Kenya - Short Safari and Beach combo

So we need to use up BA companion flights and Kenya looks like a good potential option, looking for any ideas or thoughts for itineraries please.
It would just be DH and I, possibly staying 10-14 days. DH is not overly keen on doing a safari, so I thought we could maybe do a short 3 day one, then on to somewhere on the coast.
Has anyone been and has any recommendations. We don't need luxury accommodation, but do want to be safe.

We are taking the train from Nairobi to Voi and then Mombasa to Nairobi in August. My friends sister lives there and says it’s very reliable, but to leave plenty of time at the station to get onto the train as you go through security almost like an airport!

Does DH think a safari involves a tent?
Tell him that lodges have solid walls, all mod cons, & can be as good as 4* hotels

I have just booked clients for 2026, 4 nights Masai Mara and 7 in Zanzibar worth looking at maybe you can fly from Nairobi
