London - family of five

Hi
I'd love for us to go to London next year for three nights. I'd really like a large family room but most of the hotels (Travel Lodge, Premier Inns) seem to only cater for up to 2 children? We'd even be happy with a nice hostel (as long as we're in a private dormitory). Any recommendations? Thanks so much.

The Hilton London Bankside has family interconnecting rooms - I have stayed there several times. Advance purchase as an HHONORS member is £450 ish per night.

Alternatively, I use Booking.com to find suitable sized accommodation but then book directly with the supplier. My friend had an issue with Booking.com once when she turned up at the hotel and they said the room only sleeps four, not five. They ended up having to pay for an extra room.

We have stayed in serviced apartments before or just used air bnb or vrbo to find somewhere. Last time we had a flat just near one of the football stadiums......Chelsea? Walkable (decent walk but not ridiculous) down a road of very posh shops to Kensington and the Natural History Museum anyway. Nice and close to a tube and there was a supermarket close by. So much nicer that either having to all bunk up together in one room or having to split the adults between 2 rooms with an assortment of children each.

Zedwell at picadilly circus has rooms for 6 or even 8. They’re basic but modern and clean and the location is superb. It’s relatively cheap and the rooms being internal means they’re quiet and dark so you can sleep really well.

Check out the YHA - they have several youth hostels in London.

Now my youngest is definitely too big to cram into a cot in a premier inn, we tend to stay in YHA hostels a lot - 5 bed rooms are plentiful and they are v child friendly, although obviously rather basic.

Was that Nell Gwynn House? I was about to suggest it.
