Disneyland Paris advice

I've had a look at going to Disneyland paris but can't make sense of it. It seems like you book everything separate from flights to accommodation to park tickets. Then when I read further down about a hotel supposedly close they're all miles away Is driving better? Also on average how much would a trip to Disneyland paris cost for 2 adults 1 child and how long do you go for?

I went a couple of years ago because my choir were performing there.

  1. Yes, a number of the hotels are a long walk to the park. The closer ones are more expensive.
  1. The beds in the one we stayed at (the Cheyenne) were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever encountered.
  1. The food in the park is SHIT and eye wateringingly expensive.
  1. It's not very big.
  1. The parades are great.

we stayed in Dream Castle Hotel that wasn't run by Disney but was nearby and all the guests are there for disney so the hotels runs free shuttle buses to the park all day. the family rooms had bunk beds for kids with a curtain across so parents can keep a light on while the kids sleep - great design!

we did 1 day in Disney land and that was enough.

I loved it! With the exception of Davy Crockett the Disney hotels are in walking distance. We stayed at Newport bay which was a 15 minute walk.
I'd recommend 3 or 4 nights so you have time to take it all in and do the parades and shows.

There are non Disney hotels that would be a cheaper option and you can get shuttle buses to the park.

I didn't book the meal plan, we drove via the tunnel so just took lots of snacks and ate at the quick service places. Was fine for a few days.

We are going in April, 2 adults 1 child. We have booked for 4 nights at Santa Fe, so we get 5 days in the parks. The hotel and park tickets were £1500, flights from Bristol were £780 but they varied anywhere from £380 - £980 depending on the time of the flights. Transfer to our hotel on the magical shuttle was £100, they go to all the Disney hotels and many other hotels that are nearby. Most hotels have their own free shuttle to the parks. We did go for the meal plan because it seemed to work out cheaper than buying as we went, that was £700 for the full board standard plan. We looked at staying elsewhere and getting the shuttles to the parks but decided to go for a more immersive experience by staying at a Disney hotel, we'll only go once so want to make the best of it!

There are some hotels that are within a few minutes walk to the parks, then there are some that use shuttle buses. Davy Crockett, you need a car and then there are those partner hotels, off site in Val De Europe that also have buses in and out of the parks.

What you book will depend on your budget. My last trip was the Disneyland Hotel. We did 3 days, 2 nights. Yes, it was expensive but I saved for it and loved the trip.

There are vendors selling poor food but there is also good food. You need to know where to find it. All failing, there is a Macdonalds.

Join the DLP for Brits Facebook page. It will sort you out. You must research and plan the break though. I always remember a poster on mumsnet who was having an awful time because she didn’t plan or research anything in advance. She just turned up.
