Take a 3 month old, or a 10 month old?

We can book whichever and move the date only paying the £25 admin charge. Just wondering which you would opt for. Holiday would be all inclusive. Flight about 3 hours.

Thank you

10 months. Took DS long haul at 11 months. Self-catering worked well.

10 months, they're much more fun when they start interacting and moving more and you're out of the feeding-napping-crying cycle.

3 months was super easy. 10 months ok too, but top tip is fly with qatar airways! The cabin crew practically took my baby off me and couldn’t do enough for us.

3 months when they just eat and sleep

I took a 10 month old all inclusive and it was a nightmare. No cooking facilities in the hotel room to prep food and he wasn't eating full meals at that time so had to warm those small pouches to supplement the finger food he ate. Couldn't, for obvious reason, crawl round the pool or the common areas but didn't enjoy sitting in my lap all day. Liked standing up against stuff as he wasn't quite walking, just cruising but it was all sharp edges and tiled floors in the hotel. 3 months old would have been much easier for me, as they aren't mobile and need only milk!

On a side note, if you go at three month, register baby asap so you can get the passport sorted quickly. When my DC2 was born we couldn’t get a registry office appointment for ages and then had to book a fast track passport appointment in London to be safe (trip at 3 months to see relatives).

I'd do 10 months. For either child the last place I would have wanted to be was an all inclusive hotel/beach.

I would also look to change to self catering accommodation/a villa if you can. We did a hotel room when my first DC was 9 months and once the lights go off in a hotel room there's nowhere to go apart from the balcony.

Oh All Inclusive with a 3-month old was a dream! Beach, pool, restaurants - baby happily napping in the stroller.

Well, clearly you never met my DD. She may have napped in her pram when I went for a walk but never when I planned for her to nap.

We did one overnight stay on route to my mum with dinner in a restaurant when she was 3 months. It was a disaster.

Clearly she never read the manual that babies sleep in their prams to let parents eat.

3 months
But my children were mobile by 10 months, in fact dd was walking, which means a whole new dimension of keeping an eye if them, stairs , swimming pools, baby gates etc.

  1. They'll just sleep.

10 month old. At 3 months mine didn’t sleep at night and just cried all the time so a holiday would have been exhausting and we would have annoyed all the other guests! At 10 months he could walk but he would have had fun at least, and still had naps!
