Buggy for travelling

I need a new buggy, a light one. Going on holiday by train in a few months, so is there one that folds up securely, is easy to carry about, but also is comfy for an 18 month old? If it can cope with a lightweight 4 year old if she flakes out so much the better!

Room to stash a changing bag, or at least be stable with it hung on the back would be an advantage too.

Not too worried about the cost if it ticks enough boxes.

Any suggestions?

We've found the Presto stroller from Babysrus really good. It lies down flat for very young babies and older babies/toddlers can sit in the chair when it's in the upright position. It's very lightweight and easy to put up and down. I went on holiday on the train - just me and DS - a couple of months ago and it was great. You can stash stuff in the basket underneath and hang quite a lot on the handles at the back too.

mothercare citilite/graco citisport plus absolutely fab, large basket, stable, easy to push one handed, very light was stunningly surprised with it tbh plus will take a buggy board on the back!

Thanks. I called into Mothercare today, I'm sure the Quinny Zapp won't do the job, just seems a bit too unstable. We don't have a Toys R Us here, but I could take a drive midweek and see what I can find. I think the graco is one I just had a look at this afternoon. It's a possible.

Thanks for the advice...has anyone got one of those very light McLaren ones? Volo is it?

Yes the volo is great honest but no recline, maclaren are a good buggy but the graco has the advantage of a lie back, huge basket and larger wheels so easier to steer!

Check out the toysrus web site.

BTW my friend has a zapp and says it's lightweight and great to fit in her mini, but only uses it occassionally because it's not very robust. Also you can't put anything on the back handles cos it'll tip up.

The Maclaren Quest is pretty good, light and does recline.

I sometimes wish there was only one sort, life would be so much simpler!

Mamas & Papas Pulse is a good umbrella buggy, I got mine from MN secondhand. It folds up with a clip and has a carry handle.
