Disneyland Paris - Feb or April?

Hi all, hoping for some help please.

1st time to DLP, trying to book currently. 3/4 days, mid week, probably staying in a Disney Hotel. Eurostar I think as cba with Dartford crossing/Dover and miles from an airport whereas can get to St Pancras easily.

We could go in Feb half term, which is cheaper than many other slots but it is during all the French school holidays.

Other option is 1st week in April, which is before all the French school hols but is more expensive.

Not really fussed about weather.

Which would be better for an overall good experience?

It’s me, DH and DD9 but she is quite un-confident/easily scared and DH gets motion sickness so we wouldn’t actually be looking to do the major thrill rides, but would want to do some popular ones like Ratatouille.

Thanks!

We went in the winter and it was absolutely freezing. I’d go in April.

Neither- go in October it is by far the best time to visit. Failing that I’d go April.

We went in February and it snowed. We were staying at Villages de Nature. Was great! Plus not that much queueing

We went in February half term and had to buy hats gloves and scarves as it was sooooo cold! Also Eurostar are binning their service to dlp aren't they? Not sure when tho sorry Confused

Eurostar service has already stopped but I think you can go to Paris and get a train from there (although I think from a different station so not as easy).

I'd rethink the 'not bothered about the weather' bit! It's largely outside, it'll be miserable if you're cold and wet the whole time. I'd go in April (or as pp said October).

Travellingraspberry · 08/10/2023 22:20

Your DP might not want to do Ratatouille!

QueenOfWeeds · 08/10/2023 22:22

It will be bitingly cold in February, and it’s a bit of a pain having coats etc because you need to faff taking them on and off when queuing, or be the wrong temperature. I’d take the financial hit and go in April, to be honest.

We went in Feb and it was cold but dry. Totally fine. I guess it just depends on the weather. It wasn't too busy either.

Ratatouille ride made my husband ill 🙈. You can look at the rides on you tube before you go to see what they are like (if you haven't already).

We had an amazing time! You will love it.

Edwardandtubbs · 09/10/2023 08:00

Thanks all. Eurostar isn’t direct, there’s a ‘simple across the platform’ change… it’ll just be me and DD on most of the rides then 😂

At least I can do single rider for the fun ones.

We are very outdoorsy and used to dressing for the weather which is why I am a bit less worried about it but I do appreciate that it could be freezing.

April will likely be wet though, and from my experience of Parc Asterix the French close the rides in the rain!

I wonder if the park is full of French families if it’s their holidays or if that really doesn’t make a difference…

We went to Paris last April. It was snowing when we got there and the temperature barely rose above 0 C all weekend.

Whenever you go OP, be prepared for it to be cold.
