Hi there. I’m taking my fiancé on a surprise weekend to Berlin for his 50th. There are a couple of museums I already know he would like to take in and was looking for some form of evening show too. A friend went about 20 years ago and still speak of a type of immersive dine and show she went to. The feel was the 1920’s, speakeasy underground with some burlesque type dancing, singing etc. She cannot recall what it was called. Plus it’s obviously yonks ago! If I Google I just find strip joints! Not my thing even if OH might enjoy it Would someone have a recommendation please? We are going in March next year. 😀

We went to a great place called Bellboy bar. No dancers but the kind of aesthetic you're describing.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out.

Dinner cruises are a nice relaxed way to see a bit of the city - there are a couple of operators who provide cruises along the Spree. Would that appeal?

If you google Berlin dinnershow (the latter all as one word), you might find what you're looking for(?).
A fellow parent back when my son was in kindergarten performed at one of these here in Berlin, but that was fifteen years ago.
Also, possible places: Wintergarten or Tipi am Kanzleramt (maybe?? Not really my thing, but have seen advertisements over the years).

Good tips both! Thanks. I will check that out.

We went to Nocti Vagus about 10 years ago which is dinner in the dark, I remember Stephen Fry recommending it on QI.
As it says, you eat in the pitch black, no phones, watches or anything that could emit light are allowed. I thought you'd easily be able to see shadows but nothing, you couldn't even see a hand in front of your face which made using cutlery a challenge!
They also did readings during and after the meal, we had ghost stories which was fine until you felt something brushing across your legs or face, they had props, there was a lot of screaming!
Reading this back now it's sounds awful but it was really good fun, something totally different and unique.
