Freezing! 🥶

I’ve done Paris for New Years several times as my sister and her family used to live there - it’s fairly similar to here, some years it got up to low teens in temperature, some years it’s been barely above freezing all day and well below freezing overnight. The worst I think was in about 2010 when it was just extremely cold all day and night for pretty much the whole week I was there.

You’ll need to keep an eye on the forecast basically and take appropriate clothing / footwear as you would anywhere in Winter.

I think it is just going to depend, i have some friends that have been and said its been pleasant and then others say its been extremely cold 😅 i don't mind a bit of cold don't want it to rain the whole time.

Extremely cold. But we’ve also been there in January and snow has brought everything to a total standstill.

It could rain the whole time. It could be freezing. It could be mild. Nobody knows.

I agree with @SoRainbowRhythms its just not a time of year where weather can be predicted in Paris with any certainty. If it being wet all the time you’re there or it being freezing cold / snowing would ruin the trip, it might not be the time of year to go.

MintJulia · 19/09/2023 16:14

Icy, breezy. You don't want to be outside for any length of time.

Steakandquinoa · 19/09/2023 16:15

No way of knowing. Could be frosty and sunny, wet and windy, cold and snowy, foggy.

TheCurtainQueen · 19/09/2023 16:19

Freezing. We went in early Feb and it was miserable with young kids. Paris is great for strolling around leisurely and sitting in parks with croissants. It’s no fun trudging the long distances between sights in the cold and the public transport is not good.

OneMoreStepAlongTheRoadIGo · 19/09/2023 16:20

We went and it was lovely! We went about second week so after all schools went back and it was so quiet and easy to get on rides (pre covid admittedly)

We had hats and coats but weren't freezing...

OneMoreStepAlongTheRoadIGo · 19/09/2023 16:24

We didn't do "trudging" between the sights though. We planned quite well with trains from Disney to eiffel tower and wandered around there for a bit, found the play area, ate a crepe and went to musee dorsay. I think keeping it simple works best with a toddler anyway.

Disneyland was magical (and I'm not a disney person) and lots going on so we had a fab time! And it was one of the cheapest times to go -

OneMoreStepAlongTheRoadIGo · 19/09/2023 16:25

Make the most of the (relatively) cheap prices and stay on site...

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 19/09/2023 16:34

Pretty damn cold I expect. I went to Disney end of October/ beginning of November and it was noticeably colder than at home. I imagine January would be unpleasantly cold and Disney with a toddler will be stressful enough without it being Baltic!

LaChatte · 19/09/2023 17:14

Freezing cold and usually wet.

Lonecatwithkitten · 25/09/2023 07:16

To go to DLP in January and February the French dress their children in ski clothes.
I have been several times it has always been bitterly cold with the right clothes it is fine without them it's miserable. X
