Hi I’m looking to go Dubai 2024 end of July/ August with kids. I know weather is going to be extremely hot I have never been looking to stay at palm jumeirah or Jebel Ali. We will be staying for 7 nights will there be enough to do and see with indoor activities and what are the out door activities. What will be a must see once I’m there? Please share your experience and knowledge/ what’s the best location to stay for kids with access to activities, would also like to experience to nature of the Dubai not just tourist side. Many thanks

The weather will be unbearable to be outside for more than 15 minutes during august (think of real feel 50 degree temperatures) so I would pretty much discount most outdoor activities. Lots of the beach bars etc close for these summer months because of the heat. You'd be ok jumping in and out of a pool constantly but that would be it.

There's so much to do indoors though, skiing, kids role play places and the malls/aquariums so you really wouldn't struggle with things to go, but it won't be seeing the 'real Dubai' if that's what you're after.

Sorry, mad idea.

Been twice in August with two kids, loved it.
You need to protect them from the sun but Dubai knows how to cater for tourists in the heat.
The water parks are fantastic even in August.

Lots for kids in Abu Dhabi as well. Look into both

Don’t go with kids July/august. I go to Dubai most years and see kids that are too hot being miserable. It’s too hot to go places during the day and far far to humid go out at night. You are better off going march/April with kids the weather is a lot kinder then.

Barbiesback · 12/09/2023 20:39

Agree kids won't want to go sightseeing seeing in Aug. Can't you fo October half term 2024? Or May?

I grew up in the ME, we never stayed for the summer. Madness.

The OP isn’t asking if she should go or not, it’s horses for courses.
We stay at Jumeriah Beach or Al Naseem, absolutely brilliant base and my children ask to go back every year. Plus I can honest say I’ve never seen a miserable child there yet.

My DB lies there- he comes back in August as it's unbearable. He sent a screenshot last month with a 'feels like temperature' of 50⁰

There's loads to do, plenty of waterparks, a zoo and aquariums. There's the old town, the creek and trips to the desert. But there's not as much old culture as other destinations as most of it has been built in the past few decades. There is nature, but bare in mind it's in the desert so that mostly consists of dunes, there are mountain trails in the North of UAE I believe - but you'd have to factor in the heat.

Motiongate Park we really enjoyed in august, plus the Burj Khalifa and Atlantis waterpark- we stayed on the palm - a/c restaurants at breakfast and lunchtime on the resort were welcome but the pool was lovely- we stayed at the Sofitel and couldn't fault it. Previously done dune safari and the traditional boat trips with dinner in late august

Hi, I’m going Dubai beginning of August with kids aged 4 and 6. We will be staying on the palm and JBR. I do think jebel Ali falls a bit out. I can imagine it will be very hot best time to take the kids out will be early morning or after 2pm. Have a fab time x
