Holland/Belgium TerSpegelt or Erperheide?

Hello,
I’m being incredibly indecisive!
We enjoyed a fabulous holiday at a Roompot resort in Holland last Easter.
We are keen to return in May.

I’m drawn to the Limberg region of Holland/Belgium as there seems so much to do around there. (did Efteling at Easter)

Trouble is everywhere to stay looks great so maybe I’m over thinking!
Options are
1)Landal Domein de Schatberg
2) Erperheide Centre Parcs

or away from that area 3) TerSpegelt!?

my children are 5, 8 and 10. They love the water and although centre Parcs offer a lot of that the other too half lakes for swimming/slides etc which I’m drawn to. Although May Half term can be hit and Miss.

Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated!
Thank You!

We have just had a week at Ter Spelget and it was marvellous! We chose it a bit at random, as being not too far from Eurosport.

My dc are 11 and 14, so my experience will be different to what yours would be.

It's a massive park, with lots of German, Belgian and Dutch visitors, with a big chunk of Brits. We went the last week of August (cane back 6 days ago) and most dutch/German/Belgian schools had already gone back, so after our first weekend, the park was mostly populated by British families and preschoolers.

My DC loved the independence of being able to walk around pretty safely. They loved the swimming lake (2 slides, but nit really that close), and the indoor pool (one big slide, but also a couple of little preschooler/toddler pools, one with a small flume-slide). Kids under 12 are meant to be supervised by a adult.

They also enjoyed the pump track, bmx track and "midget golf". They were a bit big for the petting zoo, and the organised activities (kiddy disco, kids foam party, some mad thing were they were drumming on exercise balls), craft activities and the gnome walk in the woods over the road.

I loved that there is a really well stocked supermarket on site, albeit a bit pricey, but very convenient. I clocked the 24 hour laundry, but didn't use it. We hired pedaloes and you could also hire kayaks and SUPs. There are sandy beaches around the two recreational lakes.

There a couple of restaurants (one burgers and chips-y, one fancier) and snack bars (pizzas, ice cream) on site too.

We also visited the point where the Netherlands/Belgium and German my meet, which my 11 year old loved!

There's a woodland across the road with lots of (very flat and easy) walks and bike rides. It's a few mins drive from the lovely old town of Ersel (supermarkets) and about 20 mins to the P&R car park to go into Eindhoven.

All the site staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very chilled time, swimming , cycling and eating a lot of pizza! We were lucky with the weather though. Not sure there be a lot to do in the rain, although on the one rainy day we had, the swimming pool was not packed..

It's a mix of static caravans, cabins, touring caravans and tents, some privately owned, some rented out. We had a 3 berth "cabin" (fancy static!) through Eurocamp. It was an Azure 3. It was nice enough. But the two smaller rooms were very sma indeed! Literally room for 2 small single beds and a locker, plus overhead cupboards. It was a bit like living in an ikea store room set, but it was fine for a week!

I'd definitely recommend it.

Thank you so much for such a detailed review. So helpful! It sounds amazing. I really want to go to the place where the 3 countries meet, my children would love that too.

We love the area around Leiden, Holland. Started going when DS was 10. Booked for this year again and DS (aged 19) still wants to come with us. We stay at https://en.koningshofholland.com/ which has seen some major refurbishment over the years. Love the laid back atmosphere of the site - swimming pool (upgraded for this season), playground, games room. This year we will be doing a two centre holiday with the above and this one https://www.delftsehout.co.uk/

We have a caravan so don't have to worry about booking chalets. Travel from Harwich to Hook of Holland plus two campsites for a fortnight - total cost for 3 is £1,100 in June. Bargain!

Holiday park in South Holland | Vakantiepark Koningshof | Koningshof Holland

A place that has everything for a wonderful holiday in Zuid-Holland. Green nature, pleasant towns nearby and close to the dunes and beach. Come stay at Vakantiepark Koningshof and discover it for yourself!

Just found this thread. We're thinking of booking this site for next year. Is the indoor pool free to use or do you have to pay extra?

We ended up going to Erperheide. We all had a great time and loved it but there wasn’t much of a mix of nationalities which we like, mainly British.
The pool complex amazing and free, the area was great- we visited the 3 border place which we loved, some great cycle rides and Toverland. So much cheaper than Center Parcs UK.
Had is have been summer we would have done Ter Spelget to use the lake etc.
Although this thread just reminded me to check the other ones out too!

Terspelget - the pool was free to campers.

If you are planning some day trips, the Stavelot carnival museum is worth visiting for the masks.
