Travel insurance impossible because I've seen my GP?

I had no idea it would be this strict. I thought I'd have to tick the usual 'no heart attacks/strokes/diabetes etc' things off for them and that'd be it, but they're all crying about me having seen the GP within the last 2 years! Is that really that unusual? Where can I find normal reasonably priced insurance company that's happy to take a risk on me?

It really puts you off going to the doctor close to a holiday doesn't it.

Declaring anxiety on your travel insurance won’t add much if anything to the cost of the policy. So just declare so there is no dispute when you claim.

Yes I know but my GP said it didn't need to be declared at all but clearly, given the wording, it does.

You have to put everything down though, things that you suffered before but dont now, so no migraines, breaks or fractures, joint or nerve issues, conjunctivitis, viral infections, blood pressure, tonsillitis, urine infections,,,,,, too many to list, she has never had anything like that over the years, all the normal things people get and recover from?

You have to put everything down that you've ever had, it doesnt mean just things you have now. Ive put operations down from 30 years ago.

I have about 14 'conditions' on my policy, many of which are historical from around 20-30 years ago.

Thats madness, how are people supposed to remember every doctor's visit from the year dot. I've changed countries, GPs etc. Some private treatment, some not.
Ongoing issues, major illnesses and things from the last couple of years should be fine. Not declaring tonsillitis from 20yrs ago is not going to let them deny a claim for a broken leg or heart attack.

i am having a
pain getting insurance too. I am on a waiting list for an op to confirm ?? Endometriosis. So it’s apparently an undiagnosed condition.

mMy sole symptom is painful intercourse. Not a problem for me on holiday…. but I’ve now been on the list wait list for over 2 years… WTF can we do??

In making various phonecalls about this I've discovered that AllClear say they will provide cover and exclude a condition awaiting diagnosis. I've also seen Staysure mentioned in various places - they might exclude the condition and any other pre-existing conditions you have. So I think there are options out there, though this isn't a recommendation for the service of either company, just that I don't think its impossible.

@oaky55 Just had a look at AllClear. The website seems quite clear that they won't cover while awaiting diagnosis nor will they exclude the undiagnosed condition.
Have they told you something different?

I'm awaiting diagnosis and was thinking I couldn't book travel until I get diagnosed (could be many months on NHS as it's not serious)

Declaring undiagnosed conditions

Not medically diagnosed? If you are planning to travel AllClear can help you understand more about undiagnosed conditions and getting cover.

You're right - their website does seem very clear. Strange. I did speak to someone on the phone and explained the situation so perhaps it relates to the specifics of that.

This section perhaps? Although this isn't quite right either because I think they were saying I could exclude anything relating to my undiagnosed symptoms.
All your tests/scans were negative; what do you need to declare? If the purpose of the tests and / or scans were only to investigate the possibility of a new medical condition, for which your results have confirmed you do not have, then there is nothing you need to declare.

I'd suggest giving them a call. Apologies if I've got muddled and got your hopes up, but I'm fairly confident that's what they said.

Did they agree to cover you, just not for pre-existing medical conditions? Or, did you just not declare them? My understanding is that your whole insurance cover is void if you don’t declare.
