Cot for 2 year old at Center Parcs

Hi all, just wondering if someone can advise on the cot situation at Center Parcs? We are due to go to Elveden in two weeks.

DS has just turned 2 and is still in his cot at home (planning on keeping him in there as long as possible!). He is 89cm if that makes a difference.

What size are the cots they provide and are they any good? Is he likely to be too big for them if they are designed for younger babies? Also are they in the main bedroom usually or another room? We are in a 2 bed woodland lodge.

We don't have a travel cot so I'm wondering if we need to get one or maybe bed guards and try him in a bed instead.

Ah I see they are foldable so they can be moved to which room you want. They look quite narrow though Confused

We've just had 20 month old DD in a cot at Sherwood CP. It was OK but they are a lot smaller than a standard cot. The dimensions are on the CP website as you need to take bedding. The cot is folded up in the storage room and you put it where you want

It’s been a while since we needed them (DC now teens) but we still go to CP and cots unchanged. They say they are 121cm * 60cm so should be ok. Our DC went into beds around age two but they were fine in CP cots at 2. They fit in bedroom (may find easier to move beds a bit).

I wouldn’t suggest trying bed for first time on holiday unless you have to, though they will provide bed guards if requested.

We've just got back from Elveden with a big 18month old and he had plenty of room in it. My little one is tall too so you should be ok! X

Our 2yo used a travel cot at 21mo. Whilst DS was in a bed shortly after (we moved him into a bed when we got home) I agree with PP not to try a bed for the first time on holiday. Don’t worry about moving LO into a bed when you do though, we had a climber and he would have broken a limb if we hadn’t moved him. He’s happier and sleeps better in a bed.

Thanks everyone. I don't want to buy a travel cot now having got this far without one as no doubt DS will be changing to a bed soon! Hopefully he will be ok in the CP cot. He doesn't move around that much so maybe it will be ok for a few days.

@PurBal thank you for the advice - I'm most worried he will constantly be getting out of bed and wandering out into the hallway or to our bedroom so I wanted to keep him contained as long as possible! He's not really a climber at the moment thankfully and sleeps well in his cot (although 5am is a standard wake up time which I'm not so keen on!).
