What type of holiday is this?

I don't know what to call this style of holiday, so that I can look more things up. Help?

For a family holiday, might be a package or partial package, all inclusive or partial, restaurant on site, heated pools, slides ideally, good kids stuff, but not high rise hotels, more natural surroundings would be lush, but not looking for a camp. What's this called?! (Other than expensive 😂)

Don't mind what country as long as its better weather than here this summer! Looking for school hols.

It's a package holiday

Look at the European Center Parcs or Landal holidays.

I would call it a park holiday.

LindorDoubleChoc · 25/08/2023 19:47

Fuck knows!

All inclusive resort that doesn't have high rise hotel? Creta Maris in Crete (pricey though)

Reluctantadult · 25/08/2023 20:29

Park holidays seem to be self catering though... And are adding up to the same as an all inclusive package in a high rise.

If you want all inclusive you would need to book a package holiday or search for AI hotels via a search engine such as booking.com etc. but then you have to book flights etc separately.

The way to find specifics is to use the filter button. But you can't specifically filter the number of floors but you can search room type and select apartments and villas etc.

They do exist.

Liberty Fabay in Turkey is worth a look.

MumUndone · 25/08/2023 20:53

It's just a nice package holiday..?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 25/08/2023 20:53

Arum Barut in Turkey might do the job but is surrounded by higher rise hotels

The phrases “resort village” and “village style resort” might help you as they tend to be lots of smaller buildings, maybe bungalows or small apartment blocks around more open public spaces. They’re often more remote and thus a bit greener / more natural.

It probably will be a case of scrolling through and looking at pictures though to find what you want. Have you seen any resorts (however expensive) which fit what you have in mind?

Pierre et Vacances do self-catering accommodation but also give you the option to buy dining packages. Or something like an apartment one of the Italian Campsites like https://www.unionlido.com/en/things-to-do/food-beverage/ Union Lido or Portofelice? Or one of the Delphina resorts in Sardinia. https://www.delphinahotels.co.uk/sardinia/hotels/ledune/ Le Dune is meant to be very good for kids, but we stayed at Cala di Falco and loved it. They do meal packages and a mix of hotel rooms/studios/apts.

It’s a pretty bog standard package holiday in a resort with facilities for kids.

BarbaraofSeville · 26/08/2023 13:49

Lanzarote doesn't have any high rise hotels so look on jet2holidays, they sell lots of what you're looking for.

hdbs17 · 26/08/2023 13:51

Package holiday - all inclusive or half board.

You could try Hotel Poiano in Garda? We did bed and breakfast there as there are so many fabulous restaurants to try in the surrounds. One very big pool, tennis courts, floodlit football pitch but no water slides. Gorgeous surroundings and not high rise.

I think you can do it as a package but we booked flights hotel and car separately. Our DC were 9 & 7 and they loved it.

Creta Maris is a beautiful hotel, it's like a village style layout, various pools, bars, snack areas and restaurants and right on the beach. It is expensive though

Pine Bay Resort Kusadasi, Turkey. Stay in the bungalows.
