Disneyland Paris with 10 month old and 27 month old.

Thinking of going to Disneyland Paris for a few nights next month with our baby and toddler. Baby will be 10 months old (8 months corrected as he was premature) and toddler will be 2 years and 3 months. Wanted to do something a little special as it’s my 40th coming up and also we’ve had a tricky year as a family as we lost one of our twin baby boys. I’ve read up and I can see there are lots of fun things for young children to enjoy. I know that they won’t remember it but for me it’s just about us spending time as a family and having fun. I’m a big fan of Disney and I love the parks so I thought it would be a nice treat for us all! Has anybody else done this with similar aged children and how did it go? Our toddler is VERY excitable and I know she would be amazed by the sights there. She’s also starting to get into Disney.

My second question is about airport transfers. What’s the best way to get to accommodation from the airport? I’ve looked at booking taxis and just worry about the children not having car seats. Does anybody else have experience of this? What is best to do?

Ideas and suggestions welcome!

Mine were 2 and a half, and baby was 6 months old when we went. Now 8 year old still remembers going! They youngest obviously not. Do you have a double buggy? It was ALOT of walking, and toddler was exhausted, wanted to sleep in the afternoons, so went into the buggy and I had baby in a carrier, which worked well. We also had a buggy board so eldest could rest her legs/we could walk at a normal pace when baby was in the buggy. The food in the parks was fast food type stuff, so not ideal, I'd try and book some meals out in advance, so you know you've got some decent food at some point in the day. Queues weren't too bad when we were there, but would recommend taking a tablet/device and some small games you can play in the queues. We took Dobble, which the kids both still love now (McDs were doing little travel versions recently in happy meals!) Try and plan which rides/things you want to do each day, so you have some sort of itinerary. Be prepared for the rides breaking down, needing maintenance throughout the day also, as this was a nightmare when we were there. It gets cold in the evenings, so plenty of jackets and jumpers to layer up! Have fun!

Also to add, we went via the eurotunnel and it takes you straight there, which was really good. Alot of the nearby hotels have free shuttle buses to take you to the parks which is great. I'd advise to stay in one of the cheaper hotels, as you really won't spend much time in it to warrant the cost of the more expensive ones. We chose one of the expensive ones as it had a pool and entertainment, and didn't use any of it, as just wanted to get up and out each day, and didn't get back until late.

Our oldest went from 18 months and our youngest was about 6 months on her first trip . We always drove as it’s so much easier IMO , especially from where we live (SE) . Plenty to entertain little ones and you can do the bigger rides by taking it in turns .

Unfortunately I don’t think the Eurostar trains stop directly there anymore, but I could be wrong.

This is great info. Thank you so much! We are in West Wales so plane might be easier for us.

We went when ours were almost the same ages but did the train which was very convenient for the hotels and much easier for us than flying. Neither dc remember it, or it’s blurred into other Disney memories for the oldest but they enjoyed it at the time and so did we.

We made good use of the hotel facilities like the pool and breakfast buffet. The double buggy was invaluable and we did some of the more adult things while they napped in it.

We do have a double buggy. So that's good to know. Can you queue with the buggy? Any ideas on what crowds will be like mid September? Ideally we want to go mid week whilst I'm still on maternity leave!

We have just taken our 2.8 year old and we LOVED it! We love the parks too and couldn't wait to take him. We had to go in the summer as I'm a teacher. We flew and paid for a private taxi transfer and requested a car seat. It was expensive but we wanted to be safe. You can also get the fast train which takes about 10 mins from Charles de Gaulle. We stayed onsite at Cheyenne and we are so glad we did. We just strolled into the parks each day. We took his pram and reins for the busiest times. We went into the parks early morning (got the extra magic hour), came back to the room for a long rest/nap and then went back out again around teatime. We are lucky that my son fell asleep in the pram for 'bedtime so me and my DH did the rollercoasters (obviously on our own) whilst one waited with our son. We paid for a few rides (premier pass) as the queues were big and we didn't want to wait. But we got on so many rides and have the most amazing photos and memories. They won't remember it but YOU will. Go for it! My son still talks about the its a small world ride now!

You can't queue with the buggy so your toddler would have to walk through the queue. I saw loads of people with baby wearing/carriers for little ones. No idea on what the queues would be in September but I can't imagine they would be high!

Honestly I think it would be a bit of a waste of money at that age. And its a lot of money.

The first time we went my eldest was 6 - loved it and my youngest was 2. The 2 year old enjoyed herself but it she could only go on some rides and has no memories of it. Most of the time one adult was on the ride with the 6 year old and the other was hanging around with a napping 2 year old in a buggy.

We went again when eldest was 10 and youngest was 6 and that was absolutely brilliant.

If you do go best way to get there from the airport is to take the magic shuttle bus. Drops you right at the door - or hotel if you stay at one of the disney hotels.

Also under 3s are free at Disney.

I'm a teacher also so I feel your pain of busy and expensive holidays... Thought I would make the most of maternity leave and go in term time! Thanks for your advice, I'm glad you had a lovely time.
