Disney Paris Spending Money

Truechicken55 · 22/08/2023 09:07

Going to Disney Paris next month. Have been before however, previously this was on a full board basis. This time we’re there for 3 days Breakfast only.
So just wanted to see what people thought about how much spending money to take ? This has got to factor in meals also. I know it’s expensive having been a few years ago.
Holiday is for 1 adult and 2 children.

Hi there’s a Facebook group called Disneyland Paris Tips For Brits which has loads of good advice and similar questions. I haven’t been yet but am planning a visit.
They say take snacks with you but there are lots of fast food outlets that’s aren’t too bad. You can fill up water bottles in the park. When you have your tickets you can download the app and look at the restaurants and the costs. Lots are buffet style.
Sounds like people go a bit mad with the merch too so people are advising to take Disney clothing etc with you (Asda and primary) including dressing up depending on the age of your dc.
so budget wise it depends whether you want to do full on Disneyland Paris top tier or budget but the group will help you figure it out.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes I recall taking snacks from the breakfast buffet to have around the park - bread, fruit yoghurt etc. So will probably do that again. Good tip about the merch thank you

They've really cracked down on taking items from Breakfast so probably best not to rely on that as an option.

We went about a month ago, we were in club rooms and the hotel offered take away boxes if we wanted to take anything. We took squeezy squash with us, a life saver as the water is drinkable but warm. We had lunch in Pym's Kitchen which was Euro 45 each and a total waste of money. For the rest we had snacks at the international food trucks. We went to Remy's but again awful food and not a buffet so we left. We had dinner at the Manhattan Grill as it was our anniversary, it was very good. We preferred having food from food trucks/Starbucks. We aren't massive eaters though.

If you buy merchandise and spend over Euro 50, download the SkipTax app, its the only way to get your VAT back.

Be prepared as to how rude people are, we were expecting a certain level but it was bad, even the staff in some restaurants were awful. The majority of cast members were amazing though. We had an amazing time.

That’s great advice thank you. The food trucks are new since the last time we were there around 7 years ago. They Seem like a good option. Previously we were full board and a lot of the restaurants weren’t too great.

I will look at the app thank you.

It depends what kind of meals you want - whether you’re happy to eat at quick counter service cafes, or if you’re looking for fancy dining or a character experience.
It also kind of depends on where you’re staying and how much food you want to take into the park with you (it’s totally allowed). One stop away on the train or a short drive away is the Val D’Europe shopping Centre which has a huge hypermarket inside called Auchan. We sometimes stock up there with snacks and stuff for packed lunches. If not we do quick service restaurants which usually have a fixed price menu (around 15 Euros for an adult meal and 10 for a children’s meal depending on the restaurant you are at). Even cheaper would be McDonalds, Earl of Sandwich etc… Meal deals at Earl of Sandwich are around 13 euros, which includes a drink.

we did it on a budget I’m 2019. 1 adult 2 kids ages 14 and 11.

im trying to remember what we spent for 3 nights. We were also b&b. I think we spent about £400 on food and merch. Mcdonnalds is a good cheap options, and bough dd1 is a vegetarian and French mcdonnalds doesn’t really cater for vegetarians. The lucky nugget was the cheapest sit down place we found. We also got money off vouchers when we booed for planet Hollywood so are there too. Coffee and a crepe was €5 I think so got that quite a bit during the day.

also took water bottles and those little squeezy squash bottles for some flavour. Unlike my friend who brought about 5 €3 bottles of coke a day!!

we came home with a fair bit of merch too.

Mayhemmumma · 22/08/2023 14:26

I went last month - myself and 2 kids.

I would say £500 - it was very expensive. I did say yes to the merchandise though.

Mayhemmumma · 22/08/2023 14:29

Dinner wise I would also book tables up as soon as possible, I booked most of them in advance but one day we were running late and lots had no availability till after 9pm or were out of the main park and needed a short bus ride.

We brought sandwiches from a lovely boulangerie for lunch and went to the restaurants outside Val dEurope in the evenings. Proper food, no queues and very reasonable. We went to a French brasserie twice, an Italian and a Middle Eastern place. There are also restaurants inside the shopping mall. Went to a steak house the last day and it was great. Don't waste your time queuing and your money on eating (mainly) overpriced fast food in the parks. The is a mini mart on the way into the parks that sell sambo and drink meal deals too.

SunsizOut · 22/08/2023 18:44

€200 per day.

Truechicken55 · 22/08/2023 18:49

Great advice thanks everyone who has replied. Interesting about going off site- something I’d not considered when previously been but will definitely do this time.

We went a couple of months ago. There were no food trucks. There were fast food outlets which was about £60 for a family of 4 for burger and chips.

Id go to the supermarket at Valle de Europe and get food and snacks for lunches. We stayed there and took food in every day.
Ate in the park for tea each evening.
Merch depends on how much you want to buy we were there 3 full days in the parks and probably spent about £1000 all in

TeknoPhobe · 22/08/2023 18:53

Went recently and bought earl of Sandwich meal deal. Upgraded to footlong for extra 5 euro or whatever it was. I would go for a late lunch and the sandwiches are very nice and very filling, so ate one half for lunch and then ate other half later on for dinner. This cost about £50 for 3. Left more money for other things.
