February Half Term

We're looking to go abroad mid February for the first time since long before Covid.

The Canaries or somewhere hottish seems obvious but is there anywhere we've not thought of?

Family of 4 with teen and pre-teen. Doesn't need to be hot but lots to do and we can only be away for a week, in the middle of February.

Would love to hear suggestions for somewhere maybe a bit different. Budget around £3K.

Tenerife is lovely at that time.

Thank you. Any recommendations for resorts or hotels, particularly any with two bedrooms?

DC might start world war 3 of they have to share for a week!

GF Victoria was great for us - has 2 separate bathrooms in its suites. Plus water park for the children and heated pool which is essential for February.

Thanks.

Any suggestions for somewhere not in the Canaries? Doesn't need to be hot but looking for ideas - e.g. a city break?

Cyprus, Turkey, Greece? Not sure if they are open in February.

If not, Madeira or Malta maybe? Dubai will be open. And Cape Verde too.

Friends went last year in February to Tenerife, nice in the sun but otherwise can still be chilly. Pools weren't heated in their hotel, so you need to be careful.

Greece - most likely will still be closed and also not that warm.

If you aren't after a beach holiday, I would look for a city break. Rome would work. According to a friend, they wore T-shirts while the Romans complained it was too cold and had a coat on.

A few years ago my husband and son did a quick tour of Italy- flying into Venice for a night, train to Rome for a couple of nights with a day trip to Pompeii, train to Pisa for a night and flew home. It was cheap as chips because it was Feb half term.

That sounds fabulous, we've not been to Italy - will do some research. Thank you.

Yes I worry a beach holiday in February might be a let down if it's too chilly to swim (despite being hardy Scottish DC!).

Rome is a great suggestion.
