lake garda recommendations for older teens

Trying to find a lake garda hotel for a week that is good for older teens (16/17). They aren't really sporty but do like to meet others their own age. We'd also like to be able to eat out and not be far from things to do, and a decent sized pool. DH is keen on a villa. I am less keen as it would likely cost more than a hotel, plus many airbnbs seem to have shared pools so we might as well go to a hotel.

Also considering other places in Italy but these seem to be more suited to a city break than a week's family holiday. I'd like a bit of history not just pools and food.

We're sick of spain, greece, portugal and turkey, so now thinking of Italy although open to other hot places.

Can't advise on hotels as we use Eurocamp style holiday parks but from one of our stays the Peschiera area seemed great for older teens. People in cabin opposite had 3 uni aged kids with them. Peschiera allowed them train trips into cities like Verona. The big theme park Garda land was nearby and I think the 3 went without parents one day. Also boat hire etc was easy. It's not one of the pretty pretty over touristy areas like Sirimone which we disliked but still lovely and great bars restaurant and busy port.

I agree with PP, a campsite is the best way of doing the Lakes with children and teens, unless you’ve got a whopping budget and can afford Le Torri del Garda. Del Garda Village is probably the best one in terms of facilities for 16/17 years old as it has bike hire, games room and it within walking/biking distance of the theme parks. The campsite has bricks and mortar bungalows if you don’t want to stay in a mobile home.
It’s is also within walking distance of Pescheira del Garda if you want to eat out. Pescheira has a train station with direct links to some of the big cities. There’s a ferry that will take you to other towns around the lake.
