2 adults, 4 kids 14-7 age group where can we stay that isn’t £££££? Looking at Easter time for 10 days.
We are looking at doing the following days out: safari trip, legoland, img world etc
what’s the best area to stay? does anyone please have any recommendations, I’m going round in circles!
would also like a hotel that have really good kid facilities, possibly beach based but not essential and separate/interconnected rooms. Some I’m looking at are £15k 😯
Also most iv looked at have only half board options, how much are drinks/snacks I know it’s very expensive so would need to bear this in mind also.
flights are separate.
please don’t comment if you hate Dubai, I know it’s hated on here by some
thanks 😊

I love Atlantis the Palm, I’ve been twice on half board basis. The second time we paid extra for I think it was called Club Imperial which is access to lounges that include snacks, lunch and drinks. The first time I went with my DC who were 12 and 13 and the second time with just my DH. We did a mixture of organised excursions and taxi trips to different attractions. I love the water park there and the choice of restaurants. There is so much to do in Dubai, I’d definitely like to go back one day.

You could also have a look at:

  • Jumeirah Beach Hotel
  • Grand Hyatt Dubai
  • Lapita Dubai Parks and Resorts
  • RIU Dubai
  • DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai Jumeirah (go up to 3 bedroom suites which might be useful)

Grosvenor hotel has apartments on the Marina

there’s lots of Dubai fb pages that can help with ideas and reviews. I’m on this one

We have stayed at Rotana JBR walk. Club room is worth the extra if you can afford it as it has evening snacks and drinks included. Dubai is a bit like London in that the main attractions are spaced out but taxis are cheap. JBR walk or the Marina are the best locations for us as you can use the beach and walk along the promenade in the evenings and it's equidistant to attractions. An apartment on the Marina near the walk is a more cost effective compromise and will give you more space. Some apartments include breakfast. We loved Lapita with entrance to the parks which were not busy when we went. It's a fair way from the centre so we did 4 nights there and 5 in the centre. We have also done 4 nights in Abu Dhabi Yas Island which I'd recommend. Hotels are cheaper and you can visit theme and water parks, the grand mosque is breathtaking and you can cycle around yas circuit (if that's still a thing, haven't been for a few years). I'd stay at the new WB hotel there if we go again and then get an apartment on the marina in dubai but im a fan of moving hotels mid stay for a different experience. Inbox for any more info.

No advice about hotels with children but 10 days is a long time to go to Dubai for. I'd be extremely bored.

Isthiscorrect · 16/08/2023 16:02

Ignore the naysayers. There's plenty to do.
We love the Anatara. There are lots of all inclusive hotels.
Absolutely detest the Atlantis.
Get a package including flights. Much cheaper and more options for AI.
If your looking for other stuff Museum if the future. Burj Khalifa. Jebel Jais worlds longest zip line. The Louvre in Abu Dhabi. She Zayed Mosque. Ferrari world. Desert safari with sand boarding and camel riding. Best is Platinum Heritage. Take an a bra trip across the creek for 1dh and visits the gold and spice Souk. Have a wander around Al Bastikiya.
Get a map a mark where you want to go so you can maximise travel time and taxi costs.
It's very safe. No need to fret over what you wear. Just be respectful, no cleavage to your naval and no arse cheeks. Generally that's ok. If you feel happier wear cotton dress.

There is so much to do.

toobusytothink · 16/08/2023 16:21

I’ve stayed at jebel Ali palm tree court 3 times. It’s 20 mins drive from jumeirah beach where most of the well known hotels are but is amazing and has own beach, watersports etc

Thegrandolddukeofporks · 16/08/2023 16:25

Lots of suggestions for me to Google, Thankyou! What sort of prices are drinks in the hotels? I can see that adding a lot with 4 kids!

paddleboarder12 · 16/08/2023 17:08

I found drinks very expensive, if you can get lounge access included in any room rates it’s worth it. I do like a drink but the first time I went I hardly drank as it was expensive, I said to myself I can have a drink anywhere and I was fine with that. Prices outside the hotels are cheaper.

Isthiscorrect · 16/08/2023 17:26

Crikey. I honestly don't know the price of kids drinks. Haven't bought one in ages, especially in an hotel.
Beer in a pub is probably £10 per pint. Cocktails maybe £15. Bottle of wine £30 upwards. Absolutely do not hold me to these.
It has been a while since I've been out on the town in Dubai but depends where you go. Lots of the golf clubs have great areas for kids and are cheaper.
Definitely try for brunch somewhere. Drinks included and beautiful food.

Thegrandolddukeofporks · 16/08/2023 17:43

I’m really liking the look of the riu one! I can’t see anywhere if they do interconnecting rooms, does anyone that’s stayed there know?
thanks for drinks info, I’m getting excited now some of the activities look amazing for the kids 😍

You can stock up on soft drinks from the supermarkets there.
buy alcohol in the duty free as you leave the airport if you want some cheaper alcohol.

Made4Sunshine · 16/08/2023 18:00

There's a Rixos all inclusive on the Palm that has 2 and 3 bed apartments.
Definitely recommend Lapita for a few nights as it includes park tickets.

MrsHsGirl · 16/08/2023 18:12

I agree re Rixos the palm great for families and also for budgeting as AI - but it is a fair drive to get off the palm so unless you're hiring a car the taxis to and from the various attractions will probably add up quickly!

sequin2000 · 16/08/2023 19:06

We all enjoyed this, the guides are great and very educational
www.jumeirahmosque.ae/mosque- visit-public/
Book a table at Thiptara and ask for an outside table for a fab view of the water show. Lego waterpark is more for younger kids but mine still enjoyed it. If you're only choosing one watermark though choose one of the others. The AquaFun Water Park inflatable on JBR beach was a firm favourite

SuperSleepyBaby · 16/08/2023 20:27

Premier Inn is in Dubai

Cyclingmummy1 · 19/08/2023 22:40

Abu Dhabi is nicer than Dubai in my opinion. Traders/Shangri La between the bridges is a good location, or Yas Island. Club/lounge access will provide drinks/snacks or go to the supermarket.

Zippyyyyyy · 19/08/2023 23:28

We love Jumeriah beach area, as PP mentioned you can easily walk to the marina or along the promenade of an evening which we did most nights, the palm still easily reachable by an Uber. Lots of family friendly hotels right on the beach in that area. We stayed half board at Rixos jumeriah beach which is family friendly booked through love holidays or on the beach (can’t remember!) was around 1.5k per adult for a sea view premium room, half board including flights with Emirates.

Alternatively on the Palm would recommend Fairmont the palm or Antara - Atlantis is the obvious family choice but felt a little full on for us but might be what you’re after so worth a look. Have found booking our dubai trips as a package in considerably cheaper! Have the most wonderful time.

TeleTropes · 19/08/2023 23:32

We stayed at Rove La Mer and wouldn’t stay anywhere else if we went back to Dubai. On the beach, part of the La Mer boardwalk, walking distance to the water park. It was a little way out of the city but not too far in a taxi, with plenty of child friendly activities and restaurants literally on the doorstep.

Everynamestaken123 · 23/08/2023 23:05

Hi, new here. You really won’t get bored in Dubai for 10 nights, there is plenty to do.
We just visited Grosvenor House for the second time (before our child was born), and it was amazing. Its sister hotel Le royal Meridien though is superb also. We said we when we have Children we would definitely visit there. I would recommend emailing them direct and seeing what price they will give you.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 24/08/2023 09:27

Atlantis. Not cheap but you get free access to the water park each day and the breakfast is huge so you probably won’t need lunch. We did club board and ate out quite a bit at night .

Always thought the Rove at La Mer looked a nice place alright. Looking online max occupancy seems to be 2 adults & one child per room so that would rule it out for us unfortunately.
Would you prefer the area of La Mer to the JBR area?
Looking at Le Royal Meridien for next March but pretty pricey.
