What's your budget? Can you afford to stay onsite with a dining plan?

MabelMoo23 · 15/08/2023 15:00

You don’t really get all inclusive at Disney. As above you can get a dining plan, or at the moment there is an offer of dining credit if you look to stay on site.

we are travelling next year in august and have $1400 dining credit for Disney as part of our package which can be used anywhere in the 4 parks, hotels or Disney springs. That is about as all inclusive as you are going to get

Are you set on Easter? Next to Christmas, it’s the busiest time to go.

If you do opt for Easter then you need to plan and plan it properly otherwise you’ll be disappointed.

You don’t get AI at WDW. You do get dining plans but I don’t know what’s on offer currently.

It might be worth looking at the Disney board on here, the DIBB online and also the Disney planning pages for Brits on Facebook.

As above, a meal ticket and an on-site resort is the 'fuss free way'. Honestly for four people in Easter you're talking £10k to do it that way.

Helpmegetajob · 15/08/2023 20:06

thank you for the replies so far. Budget is between 5-10k max.

I suppose we could look at Feb half term or October if Easter is really busy.

I’ve got no idea about what’s at the parks or where is best to say it’s just the kids saying they want to go so thought we could pull try it.

any recommendations for 5 and 10 year olds who don’t like walking too much but like rides entertainment etc

If your children are not keen on walking or standing in queues I just wouldn’t consider it . You literally can end up walking miles per day .

lastseasonstop · 15/08/2023 20:25

If they don’t like walking you’re going to struggle. Even just getting into the parks is a walk in itself.

If you do go you need to work out if you’re going to do on-site or stay off site. It’s a big holiday to plan. I’d suggest a note pad and a pen and start to research and write things down and taking it from there. The flights and accommodation are the easy part.

I would advise going October half term over Easter. 7 days is too short with the jet lag. I would go for 10-14 days.

There is lots of walking. However, we tend to only spend half a day at a theme park and then the other half at one of the water parks or just at our hotel pool. So we weren't on our feet all day.

Figgygal · 15/08/2023 20:30

It's a lot of walking, waiting, it requires a lot of planning to make the most of it.
Agree with others easter is a bad time to go
I'd join some of the fb groups tbh and consider whether it's the right holiday for you

MabelMoo23 · 15/08/2023 22:59

for kids who don’t want to walk, don’t do Disney. You will literally do thousands of steps a day, then add heat on top. It’s hard work and you have to plan
