European resort for teens

Two teens. The youngest is 14, she loves swimming but not keen on water sports so was looking for a teen club that does a variety of activities.

Partners son is older and will do any sport etc so not so worried.

I would prefer a chilled resort with a decent spa and decent food. Yoga classes etc would be great.

It's like the unicorn holiday I guess. I was a lone parent for years so my DD and I used to go off to Scott Dunn places which were perfect when she was younger.

Mark Warner was full of teens when we went earlier this year. The teen program does include some watersports but plenty of non watersports too and they can dip in and out as they wish. Their Kamari resort has a new spa (not huge but looked nice) and exercise classes including yoga.

Thanks I always thought they were just water sports so will check it out.

I think there is the choice whether to sign up for specific sailing/windsurfing training courses (which last 3 hours x 3 or 4 days and cost extra) or just do the included programme which just has 1 hr of watersports “taster” per day. At least that’s how it was for younger age groups.

This is the brochure for the kids clubs at Sun Gardens Dubrovnik https://www.dubrovniksungardens.com/datastore/filestore/12/Web-Sun-Gardens-Dubrovnik-Childcare-sports-activities-2023.pdf

@Fivemoreminutes1 it's funny my DD and I went there with Scott Dunn. It's a really lovely place. Would love to go back sometime.

Ikos. Takes Ai to a new level and my teens loved it.

So far we've been to the ones in Spain and Greece. It can be very expensive though so you have to be flexible on dates and locations.

(AI as in all inclusive not a group of robots gliding around serving pins coladas...)

How expensive is it?

grass321 · 05/08/2023 07:37

That depends on picking the time and room quite carefully.

Three of us in the Spanish one (in the deluxe section) was £3,500 last October half term. We did a week in Kos (three again) this July (in a junior suite) and it was £5k (no flights).

I'd say it's more typically £7-£10k And sometimes more like £15k. It's amazing but that starts to become ridiculous,

jeaux90 · 05/08/2023 08:50

Ikos sounds amazing. The teen activities are they varied?

There's a football academy plus a general anyone who wants to play 5-a-side football match every afternoon. There's also various activities such as beach volleyball, tennis, etc. There's a big gym so my sons joined the organised sessions there (and there's free bike hire).

In the Kos one, there's a nice island you can take their pedalo or kayak to and snorkel.

It's more of a low key activity programme for older kids than groups of kids going round the resort but my kids really enjoyed the endless food and drink on tap.

Been looking at Ikos, costing in at 14k! That's eye watering and I guess the key with them is to look out for deals or late bookings?

I'll check out a couple of other options. Le Dune resort in Sardinia has good reviews.

At the Lego House in Billund there are robots serving in the cafe - but not serving pina coladas ...

I wouldn't pay more than £7-8k either. Is it for next summer? They start to run various early booking offers (from memory in the autumn onwards) so I'd look then.

jeaux90 · 09/08/2023 12:36

Thank @grass321 I'll hold my horses and look then.
