Hi all, has anyone been to mauritus in July? How hot was it? Found a good deal at a hotel I know is amazing, but worried it won't be warm enough for beach and pool etc. Resort is in on the south coast.

North/west coast is recommended for this time of the year as it's not windy.

We went to the North West (Balaclava) the very last week in June. This was due to the wind being a factor at that time of year, as per pp.

It was more than warm enough to go in the pool/beach for me. At night time I was still wearing little dresses and shorts/vest tops and didn't get chilly.

Not sure how the very end of July would compare though.

We were deciding between the Caribbean and Mauritius for late June and early July. In the end we went for a 'dry' caribbean island. It pissed down and we didn't really enjoy ourselves. So we thought we should have gone to the Mauritius. Then we met up with friends who went to the Mauritius in July and they had a shit time too, it was dead quiet, and only really warm for a few hours a day. The sun set at 5pmish and they were bored.

Honestly, stay in Europe for July. Save Mauritius for the winter when it's cold here.

We're recently back from Mauritius (GCSE year so we could go before most schools finished). The weather suits us when we stay up on the North West coast. Daytime temperatures were typically 24-28 degrees. Nightime probably 22-24 when eating dinner outside somewhere away from draughts. We would have melted in most of southern Europe!

It tended to rain overnight/early morning on the coast but there was often very low cloud up in mountains around Black River NP/Grand Bassin.

A lot of hotel pools aren't heated (but sea is okay to swim in for a short while).
