Travelling to Spain with just hand luggage and need to take the essential toiletries. Have stuffed everything into a 20cm by 20cm sandwich bag. Is this going to meet the requirements for going through security? Thanks

It’s a bit of a gamble, looks okay but may be issues if you’re (for whatever inane reason they fancy) they ask you to take it out and then repack. Although as I suspect you’ve crammed it all in there once you could do it again! And once it’s all been checked over it can just be thrown into your bag however you like.
I would (and do!) just buy what I need at the airport or the resort, can’t be dealing with the faff of the liquid stuff!

Manchester wouldn't accept that. Did you know you can order toiletries online at Boots and collect them at the airport after security? Normal online prices too.

You are only allowed one clear bag per passenger. 100 ml bottles should have the measurement shown on them and should not total more than a litre. Although I don't think it's possible to fit that much in the bag anyway.

Have a think about what can easily be bought in Boots once you are airside, (allegedly prices should be the same as on the High Street) there is no restriction then, providing they will fit in your hand luggage. Likewise, think what will be readily available when you are overseas. Suncream is often more expensive overseas but not as much as is often alleged. By from a supermarket not a tourist shop. NB: In most countries where English is not their first language, refer to hair conditioner as "after shampoo", if you ask for conditioner they may think you have nits!

Some shops such as Superdrug sell (quite cheaply) clear zip up bags which are compliant and much stronger than the ones shown.

Enjoy your break.

I order everything as click and collect from the boots post security, pay online prices not inflated airport ones that way

here in the dominican republic, that would get thru no problem as long as it all fits in that size bag. I am heading to the airport in 2 hours to pick up my husband on his way back from a visit to canada. He has a bag like this packed (he is only travelling carry on as we have clothes and stuff at our kids places in canada) reason he is bring this is because I HATE some of the hair serums here (curly girl..need my serum) He bought it and packed it and got thru toronto airport 2 hours ago with no problem. Now I am not sure if I am more excited about my husband getting home.. or that I have my hair serum again lol

There's Boots in Gatwick, leave a couple of bits and buy after security.

I flew through North Terminal earlier this week. Lanes furthest to the right in security is trialling the new scanners, so they request that liquids stay in your bag. Highly likely if you go to these lanes that they won’t pull you for an 11th liquid bottle - they’re probably looking for the actual issues rather than an extra bottle of Nivea!

Buy your toiletries when you have gone through security
