Ikos resorts - which one would you recommend?

Has anyone been to more than one Ikos resort and can help me choose the right one?

This is likely to be the one and only time at Ikos for us - we’re looking to book for June ‘24 before my my kids start school and we are forever constrained by school holidays and the even more crazy prices.

We have two pre-schoolers and want to be able to spend some family time together and have some adult only moments when they can enjoy time at the kids club doing activities and spending time out of the sun.

Whats the difference between all the resort? Has anyone been to more than one and can offer a comparison / recommend one above another for pre-schoolers? Kids club / food / pools / rooms / beach / evening activities / other?

Thank you.

If you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we've put together a handy guide to the best Ikos Resorts according to Mumsnetters featuring recommendations from families that have tried and tested each hotel. Ikos Dassia in Corfu tops the charts for its food, facilities, service and views. Hope you find it useful! 😎

We've been to both Ikos Oceania in 2017 (pre kids for our honeymoon) and Ikos Olivia in 2022 (with our 15 month old). Both were amazing, food was exceptional and both would give you an amazing family holiday. Having said that, if you have 2 young children I think Olivia has the edge, Oceania is set on a hill and Olivia is a bigger site. The buffet restaurant at Olivia was also bigger and was set on the beach front. Our daughter went to the kids club on one afternoon and the staff were truly amazing. Biggest tip is to email ahead of going (as soon as you book!) to book your evening meals at the restaurants. If you leave it to when you arrive there will only be 9pm slots left or possibly no slot.

Rooms are the same in terms of decoration and layout, Ikos Oceania is blocks and Olivia is bungalows and 1 main building. We stayed in a panorama junior suite which was huge, plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Pools - Olivia was better for pools in our opinion, the pool area was nicer and felt more spread out and there is a big kids bit, a bridge and the beach right nextdoor.

Evening entertainment was good at both, with different shows on different nights and really good bands in the hotel bars. Super duper kid friendly with toddler and preschoolers dancing with their parents - very cute!

We're about to book Dassia for next April, best holidays ever are Ikos holidays 😁

Do you know what country you want to be in? Or is it any?!

Thank you for the comparison, that is really helpful, it sounds like a resounding vote for Olivia. I hope Dassia is just as good in April, this was one of the ones I’ve been looking at

We’re open to any of the locations, I had thought the weather in June would be pleasant enough that it wouldn’t be a factor. I haven’t looked at flight times yet but we’re flexible on travel days and ok with a 3/4 hour flight to Greece / the islands if that looks like the best hotel option for us. Which ones have you been to?

Dassia definitely better than olivia and oceana. Better staff to guest ratio, huge flat site with two main buildings and 7 a al carte restaurants. And theres a sunset boat cruise included in the AI package too, so an extra "activity" for you.

We've been to Andalusia and Aria and have loved them both. Food, rooms and service were of the same high standard at both. The beach was the main difference for us. Andalusia has a hard shingle beach that we didn't use at all whereas Aria has a beautiful sandy beach complete with ancient ruins and a small island just off shore to explore.
Aria is a much larger resort and more spread out but we quite enjoyed that. We also loved that Dimitrius the Aria manager would appear regularly throughout the day to check how we were and whether we were happy. We loved Andalusia but hoping to book Aria again next year as for us it just had the edge. X
