Florida for February half term

Is this a great or stupid idea? 😂 Only really want to go away for a week and looking for somewhere warm for February. Potentially will look at canaries but wondering whether it's worth paying slightly more and going for Florida. Has anyone done this and is it worth the distance for 1 week? have 3DDs 11-14. Thanks!

Weather can be unpredictable. I’ve been in Feb and it’s been a bit cold! If you want guaranteed heat, pool weathercetc maybe not.

Also, check when Spring Break is, as resorts, Disney etc are packed around then.

We go every Feb half term. Weather is perfect, we've had a couple of chilly mornings but by 10am the sun has burned through.
It can be busy with cheerleaders and school trips but they don't bother us.
Bear in mind, whilst you might get a cheap hotel and flight, park tickets can be £500+ per person.

And yes, we go twice a year for a week at a time

@DoneAdulting that's really helpful thank you. Can I ask who you book through please? It's a bit of a minefield and just looking at virgin atm. Is the £500 for the parks for the week? My girls are growing up so just thinking of doing something a bit different to usual AI in canaries!

Thank you that's helpful. I'm a bit 50/50 at the moment between this or canaries. Not keen on Egypt (was extremely ill the only time I've been) so limited on warm places in February!

Yes, Disney tickets are at least £500 per person for a 7 day ticket.
You need to do lots of planning and research in advance if doing Disney, you have to make park reservations in advance and some rides you have to book at 7am.
Also if going to the USA I'd do your ESTAs before booking, just in case.

It depends on what your girls enjoy doing, but I’d say it’s definitely more fun for those ages than a week by the beach, and worth paying a bit extra.

if you aren’t set on Disney, Universal could be a good shout with Harry Potter. The tickets are cheaper and you’d have more than enough time to do it with a couple of days spare for shopping and other things.

It will not be that warm and at that time of the year the sun doesn't get up until about 8 am. There will be lots of dew and it will feel cool in the mornings and evenings.

I’d do universal and islands of adventure, HP and ditch Disney. Mine absolutely loved it. We have family there so have done a week a few times. I use melatonin to counter the jet lag.

Depends on where in Florida you want to go. It’s a pretty big place.
