Off to bude next week with DD,3.
Asides the big sheep and the Milky Way what other options are there for preschoolers in the areas that don't break the bank? I think we can afford two days out like these, was hoping it wouldn't be chucking it down most days but forecast to . I can't see much online, all looks like outdoor stuff

Put wellies on and go to the beach anyway! Lots of rockpools to explore and sandcastles to build.

It may be too similar to the other two but Trethorne Leisure near Launceston has a huge indoor soft play area, one of the largest I know of in Cornwall and it's fairly cheap compared to other days out plus there is load of other activities too including pony rides. While most things to do are outdoors Bude Castle is free to visit and there is tintagel not far away although I don't know how much that is these days. For some reason Bude tunnel attracts a lot of people, it's a very long undercover tunnel that goes around the outside of Sainsbury's but kids love it 😂.

Splash in Bude is fun (but a bit tired) has a little wave machine and a water slide.

Lovely beaches like bucks mills which is a bit of a hidden gem, has woodland too to explore which is a winner.
Peppercomb beach too but that is a bit of a walk for a 3 year old.
Westward Ho/ Appledore for somewhere nice to walk around and grab an ice cream (hockings of course)!
Clovelly is a sweet little fishing village (that you pay to get in to) but gorgeous. Worth a visit .

Have a great holiday!

Sorry, all suggestions of mine are outdoors... but that's because there dues t seem to be many indoor attractions around those parts. Fingers crossed for some dry weather x

BBC forecast suggests showers more than prolonged periods of rain so you might be luckier than you think. Cornwall has a bit of a microclimate so whilst it might be raining on the North coast it's better on the South.

I second Trethorne as a place to go, our kids used to love it. Launceston leisure centre has opened again and there is a pool there. I don't know how much Lappa Valley steam railway is down near Newquay, whilst it has quite a lot of outdoor stuff your DC might like to ride on the miniature trains and play in the play park there. About an hour from Bude I guess.

As above rock pooling in the rain and travel about as it can rain in Bude but be dry down the road

Take waterproofs and get out and about anyway.

It's the only way to do a UK holiday. The "wet weather" attractions will be rammed in poor weather and you end up spending a fortune to be occupied for a couple of hours.

We had the best time in playgrounds in the rain when DC were small. Waterproof trousers make slides extra wizzy and you have them to yourselves so the adults can play too!

All the beach activities, rock pools, sandcastles (wet sand makes better castles), wave jumping are more fun in the rain and you don't have to worry about sun cream.

Some of my favourite days on holiday in cornwall are the rainy ones- lazy morning then put your waterproofs on and head to a beach on the north coast, Porthtowan is my favourite one. There's loads of rock pool and rocks to explore on the beach then head to a beach bar and have nachos, hot chocolate and wine 😍
