So we love to travel, we go lots to places in UK and europe and have a great time. I am currently saving money to take the kids to lapland as I really want to take them too se Santa clause, I think this will be absolutely magical for them. We also want to take them to Disney and potentially disney in florida. Because I am an endless dreamer and planner I want to already think of other places that would be absolutely magical for the kids to see.

Would have loved to go to Costa Rica with them too but stuck to school summer holidays when I think it's the rainy season so we'll have to try and do that on our own, DH and me, when we're retired or something.

I thought Nepal was a massive eye opener. I really wanted to take DS. Third poorest country in world whilst being able to walk the Himalayas. It will show them everything they need to know about about having a good time whilst having nothing.

We went to Costa Rica in August and it is there rainy season but it was around 27C and sunny every day until about 4pm when big rain would hit but it was quite fun to watch the rainforest in rain. We found it easy to work around and trips tend to be early to early so you are back for 4pm.

In Iceland we started by staying in Selfoss for a few nights and with a hire car we got out to Vestmannaeyjabær island for a day trip, the local springs (there was a park place where you could boil an egg in the thermal springs!), Gulfoss and the big geyser park. We found ourselves stopping off at places along the way when we saw signs for waterfalls etc. Then on the day we left there we drove the "long way round" to Reykjavik via Thingvellir National Park and then had a couple of nights in Reykjavik. I'd have enjoyed more time outside Reykjavik personally with more outdoor activities.

These are so inspiring, what a great thread!

What ages are they all best for? Mine are still just primary age, I feel some things would be better to wait til they're a bit older but very keen for some ideas for the next few years.

They have loved Malaysia, so friendly to kids and the rainforest was amazing. Australia for some beach in January, penguins, wildlife. Bahamas for some sailing , beach, waterpark, swimming with dolphins

Alaska is amazing... dream trip is inside passage including - salmon bake, visit a glacier etc, then sail across the gulf of Alaska to steward where you can can pick up the train to anchorage. From anchorage rent a camper van and travel up to see the bears in Denali national park (the ranger activities are great for kids) and then further north to see the northern light there's great hot springs ne of Fairbanks where we saw the most amazing show! Finally call in at North Pole, AK (not actually the North Pole) to see Santa and the year round Christmas shop. Yes I did it and with preschool kids. I used Alaskan state ferries
