Child travel consent form

My husband is going to travel abroad with our child for the first time on his own. We are both non-british, have different nationalities and our child has my nationality and surname. What's your experience when traveling within Europe, is a run-of-the-mill travel consent form (without notary public stamp) and birth certificate enough? What are you guys usually taking with you? I am thankful for any replies.

I've always just had a letter from DD's Dad and he has one from me.
She is a dual national. With me she uses both and with him it has always been his nationality.

She has both our names.
It has never been a problem.

We were thinking along those lines along with the full birth certificate. Do you add contact details from the other parent as well? And did anyone ever ask for the letter?

We do have contact details on the letters, yes.
I don't think anyone has ever asked for them

I used a consent form and a copy of his passport which he signed
