Holiday for £3000 for 5

Help me I'm stuck!
We are a family of 5. The children are 8, 14 & 16 all like swimming and beaches. The oldest like a bit of culture and a wander around the other two are just happy in the water all day.

Any ideas on where we could go for £3000 in Europe. I'm happy to drive and driven all over the world was wondering about a holiday camp somewhere and driving there just stuck on where. Should say we have extra in the budget for food.

Or do we travel around the UK visiting Castles and Beaches.

We have holiday for the first two weeks of August

We've looked at Croatia and Lake Gardia plus South of France.

Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated

An apartment is easily done, but do you mean for this summer? As in August 2023?
If so your simply way to late to book, the decent properties will have been booked up months ago.
( we have a holiday let, typically it’s full booked for the following summer by Oct/November time the year beforehand)

Your best bet is a last minute package holiday now. They often reduce prices if last minute cancellations.

Yes @Caspianberg this summer, that's what I'm finding is everything is booked but I'll keep trying.

We had the same last year as I used my bonus which was late coming in.

We need to get better at saving over the whole year but then there's always something else that needs paying/doing.

See if any of the late deals on James Villas float your boat OP, then you can look into travel separately. Skyscanner can be helpful for finding flights.

A tip - look for the price of just one person flying to start with, then see how many seats there are at that price. If you search for the whole number and there aren't enough at the lowest price, dynamic pricing will tip you all into the next, higher price category.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

As an update we've decided after so much search my head nearly exploded, to go to the Isle of Wight....so completely different to what we thought but has a pool, evening entertainment and hopefully it will stop raining so we can go to the beach ⛱️

It cost us just over £1100 so plenty of spending money plus some spare for a rainy day or towards an October holiday in the sun ☀️

Top tip - if you find accommodation on air bnb or booking .com, check to see if it's also on Clickstay.com - they have a lot of the same properties but much cheaper. They often have last minute options on their facebook page too

We are a family of five and we have had lots of holidays in the south of France and Lake Garda for under 3k. We usually rent an apartment with a shared pool or go with eurocamp/canvas holidays. I think your struggle will be that lots of places will already booked up. I just had a look on canvas holidays for Lake Garda and there is no availability for the first two weeks of August.

Just thought I'd update, we went to Away Resorts White Cliff Bay.

The weather was the tail end of all the rain we've been having thanks to the stuck jet stream so a fair few rainy days, the Isle of Wight and anywhere else is always better when the sun shines.

The Caravans were clean and the site was clean, it needs some updating in the pool and one bit of play equipment was missing from the playground.

When we first got there we were pleased to be close to the shop and entertainment unfortunately they obviously aren't following rules around noise pollution as every night we could feel the vibrations of the base from the entertainment and even make out what song it was this usually went on until midnight!

My DH does events and thinks all they needed was a noise limiter to prevent the base getting to load.

So whilst it was okay I would recommend caution when booking that site.

I complained at reception and via email but had heard nothing back...I will be following up.
