60th birthday, where to go?

My 60th birthday falls on Christmas Day (as it does every year)😂. The thing is, I don't want any fuss, hate surprise parties etc.
So I'm thinking of going somewhere (uk) at least for the day with DH
But! Everything is triple dear, it being Christmas and all.
so, any suggestions pls?
I'm in the SE if that helps
I've thought of a spa day. Would like to go to the ballet but there are no shows on near us this year.
Apart from that, I'm stumped

What about a Christmas market in the run up to your big day?

Up to London on the 25th (by car?) for a guided walking tour (Christmas Morning, 1660 – Samuel Pepys’ London: Here), lunch in Chinatown, go and look at all the Christmas lights, walk in one of the Royal Parks, back home.

Could you delay celebrations til Jan and maybe do a city break then? If you were inclined to stay overnight London hotels are generally better priced then after the Christmas / NY spike. There is bound to be some ballet on and maybe there will be offers on afternoon tea or a pre-theatre( ballet) restaurant offer.

Other places I would suggest for things to do are Bristol, Winchester, Cheltenham, Bath (not when there's rugby on)

My 60th birthday is between Christmas and New Year. I don't want a party, fuss etc. I looked at going away in the UK but it was very expensive.
Theatres in my area are full of pantos. Ballets such as The Nutcracker turn up here in February.
I've booked a 4 night break in Prague with DH. I'll have a celebratory meal with my adult children when we get back.
I booked a while ago but you may still find that a short break in Europe is cheaper than staying in the UK.
