Must dos in The Algarve and Lisbon

I am spending one week in the Algarve and a few days in Lisbon - given time is obviously y bit tight what would you say are the must dos? I have two boys in late teens plus me and DH.

Also, we are staying near Carvoiero - which beaches would you really recommend with nice sea, facilities and most importantly parking at least somewhere near as I have very arthritic knees!!

Santini for ice cream, there are a few branches in Lisbon and surrounding places

We love Carvoiero and go a few times a year, beautiful little fishing village.

Sullys off the main square is a great small pub for people watching too.

There are a few shops that sell the essentials, If cooking we always go to the butchers at the Municipal market or get a shopping delivery from Apolinia, delivery drivers speak great English. Are you staying in a Villa?

@girlmeetsboy thank you. Yes we are in a villa. Is Apolinia a supermarket locally?

Yes, there is another one on the way as you can see on the map, you can also get a taxi but we had lots of water and wine so choose the delivery option 😁

Re surf lessons, my son had one in Portimao but Sagres is also a great place for them and we found an amazing fish restaurant there too!

Just wanted to let you know - back from the Algarve in the early hours and I took all of your advice. Stayed in a lovely villa very near Carvoiero @Costacoffeeplease and went all over including Lagos, Silves, Albufeira, Benachil and Monchique and right out west to Cabo Sao Vincente. Thank you @GlomOfNit Then up to Lisbon @Holidayqueen1 where we crammed in loads of your suggestions and made it up to Sintra too @crimsonlake . Finally, back down to Vilamoura for a bit of Resort style holiday at a swanky hotel. What a great holiday we had in an area I had never considered before and everyone posting here helped me plan it! Thanks ladies.

we loved the boat trip to see the Dolphins but it was super pricey (numbers are limited so as not to disturb the dolphins too much)

We visited Lisbon zoo (lovely it - cable car over the park) and the aquarium was amazing in Lisbon
