Valencia in the summer holidays?

Thinking of booking Valenci for 4 people including ds10 and dd7. Would people recommend it for kids. I'm not into lazing by pools so was thinking there would be lots to do. Flies from Bristol. Any recommendations for things to do, accommodation and which area to stay in? How about the heat?

I don't live far from Valencia. It's a great place to visit. Something for everyone.

Always have a siesta in the summer. That's why people don't eat until 10 they sleep in the afternoon and cook when it's cooler

I think it will almost certainly be above 22 anywhere in Spain in August, maybe not the far north west?

But if you’re happy to limit sightseeing to morning / evening then you might be fine. Especially if there’s lots of parks etc. And beaches / pools / lakes if you’re wanting to cool down.

You could look at:
Milan (also good for Italian Lakes)
La Rochelle
Bordeaux
Copenhagen
Zurich
Cologne

Why not catch the ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff, so much less hassle than flying, and rent self catering tent/cabin somewhere down the Atlantic coast of France.
