Travelling from uk to Spain with polish ID card

we Are taking our dd’s friends to Tenerife for a week in four weeks time. My eldest dd’s friend is dual nationality ( British/polish) and has what I assume is a EU or polish ID travel card. Per mum has applied for a renewed uk passport as her current one has expired but it’s been returned due to shadows on photos. I am a bit annoyed as it turns out it was returned 2 weeks ago and they have not resent it off yet so they are cutting it really fine.
My question is will she be able to travel with the ID document from the uk to Tenerife and what will this mean regarding separate queues at the airports.

Since brexit you cant enter the uk on an EU id card, passport only. She needs either a Polish or UK passport

Thanks. I thought this was the case.

She will definitely need a passport

She can enter Tenerife using her ID card (you might all be able to queue jump with her using the EU queue). So entering is fine. She’ll have an issue returning as ID cards aren’t accepted post Brexit unless you have settled status.

If they’ve not sent passport off, they’ll need to get an expedited appointment. Or alternatively obtain a Polish passport if that’s quicker. They might still have awkward questions at UK passport control, though.

You need a passport to fly from a UK airport. ID cards are no longer recognised.

Depending on her age, you might also need a letter from her mother.

I was almost denied entry to Lanzarote (Spain) using my EU national ID when flying from the UK. They said that post-Brexit they only accept passports for travellers from the UK despite the Spanish Government website saying that EU IDs are accepted for EU ctizens. I decided to put border control to a tough test and we had heated discussions for about one hour when I landed to Lanzarote. Border control and police could be simply clueless but they insisted on having a valid passport when travelling from the UK even for EU citizens. At the end I had to show them my British passport (I have dual citizenship) to move on with my day. Not sure what would have happened if I did not provide them with a passport but I doubt they would put me to a flight back to the UK since they would need to bring someone who really knows the rules.
