Travel insurance for family hols with young adults?

Family trip planned (EU) with teen/young adult kids, 2 of who are over 18- and I'm going round in circles sorting out insurance (complicated as dh has some very specific medical conditions to disclose that could impact him on hols that increase his premium).

Can't get a family policy quote as most only cover under 18s- what do people do in this scenario, do you get a group travel policy (as then you can disclose medical conditions that could curtail the trip for everyone but I am finding these hard to locate as they seem to be for more organised trips), or do your young adults get their own insurance? This must happen to many family groups going away with young adults but frustratingly I can't see much about it.. Any recommendations for insurers would be great!

We have staysure. They cover young adult student son as part of out family policy. We use them due to dh health issues. I think it maybe students only though

Previously we have had a family of three (1x over 18) plus one parent and then a separate policy for other parent. This might help if DH has extra things to add to his insurance
Otherwise check yr bank acc. Do you travel ins thru there!

We had this issue as ds is 18 and we needed insurance for a family holiday and he is going away with friends. It was confusing all insurance companies have different approaches. In the end I took out two Admiral policies one for him and a second one for the rest of us.

Thanks all, after going round in circles with various insurers I have taken out an annual policy for all of us with Aviva as they allow 18+ family members to be added. Adding them only added about £15 each to mine and DHs annual policy quote and all medical issues noted so hopefully one insurer/policy could be easier to deal with should we need it - and kids have "free" insurance for their own holidays with friends!
