Anyone have any tips on how to book the cheapest flights to Colombo? We're thinking of going next Easter and I usually use skyscanner or Google Flights but I seem to be getting cheaper flights through Emirates or Qatar Airways directly.

Are there usually any sales that we should wait for before booking? Fairly new to long haul travel so I'm nervous of paying over the odds unnecessarily!

How's the weather in the south?

Hi all will July be a good time to come and can anyone recommend places to stay as a family we are 2 adults 2 children 10 and 13 .

Spring will be crazy humid so it feels hotter, but it won't stop you enjoying yourself. I would prefer dambulla over sigiriya if you are limited for time (similar caves exist and but I can't remember the name), if not as an extra! They have traditional dance shows in kandy that are fun if you haven't seen anything like it before (not sure how an expert would view it). The beaches in galle itself aren't worth a visit (the Fort is), a bit further north of the town are better for beach time. Loved this country, have a great time 😀
