We're off to Prague for a few night soon.
Does anyone have any advice for places we should definitely visit or any tips we should know about?

The castle district and Mala Strana are lovely to wander about and generally less crowded than the old town. I would recommend doing some of the free walking tours. If you want to go anywhere fancy for dinner, you probably should book in advance. Aperols at Club Lavka over looking the Charles Bridge and castle. The boat tours are not very exciting. We did a vintage car tour which was quite fun. I was there in April and it was heaving! The post covid boom I guess. The time we went before we took dd and did the Communist Museum which was interesting and did the self-guided tour of the Jewish Quarter. Very sad in parts, especially the drawings done by the children in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. Try to walk on the Charles Bridge early or late in the day to get the atmosphere and avoid the crowds.

The Wallenstein Gardens are next to Malostranska metro and worth a visit. You can get the tram there to go up to the castle - otherwise the steps are immensely steep. Better to walk down than up.

I went for four nights in March and absolutely loved it. Lots of sights worth seeing like the castle, astronomical clock (Go on the hour and see the show), Jewish quarter, John Lennon Wall, etc. I use an app called Atlas Obscura that shows you unusual sites across the world, visited a couple in Prague. The Irish Times was good for entertainment and drinks and Beer Spot was great for food and beer .We also had drinks at the top of the Dancing House, which was surprisingly inexpensive given the setting and view of the whole city. You will love it and it was relatively cheap compared to other European cities 😃

Castle - book your ticket online and print it, we ended up in a huge queue as we only had the QR code on the phone and they didn't accepted it and had to go and get proper tickets. In the whole complex they only had one ticket office and it was heaving.

Jewish quarter - again, pre-book the ticket and you don't have to queue. Or buy it at one of the synagoges, not the cemetry as the queues are really long. Check opening days, they close for jewish holidays.

A warning - if you love libraries, you can't really go into the Strahov Monastery, you can only look through the open door. Waste of the entry fee.

The Communist Museum is really good.

Bus tours - I wouldn't really bother.

I've been twice, nothing much to add to the already great suggestions BUT be prepared for a rocky/windy plane landing. Both times, 7 years apart I've thrown up on landing despite not getting travel sickness since I was a child.

We did a ghost tour one evening which was fun, I certainly do not recommend the black light cinema though
Castle and cathedral were beautiful, John Lennon Wall was definitely worth a look, we did a museum of illusions opposite the astronomical clock which was good. I regret not seeing the ballet!

The public transport system is superb, and really simple to use especially if you use their official PID Lítacka app.
Watch as many YouTube videos from 'Honest Guide' and 'Real Prague Guides' as you can.
Oh and learn some simple Czech phrases will go a long way Hello, Please, Thank you, The bill please, Do you speak English? that kind of thing. Again, YouTube.

We did a tour through the app 'Withlocals' and met a lovely tour guide Hanah who was so knowledgeable - we are still in touch with her now 😊

Kampa Park restaurant is worth a visit for a special treat.
Definitely have a Chimney Cake.
Concert in the church are wonderful.
A boat trip during the day or evening is very enjoyable.
There are many museums so it’s worth a little Google.
A tram up to the monastery for the views and walk back back down is a nice way to spend a few hours.

Off main square if you go through lobby of hotel U prince, get lift to top floor, is a lovely rooftop bar with nice views over the rooftops

It’s fab and you have tips on sights above.

We unfortunately were robbed in the street in a busy shopping area in broad daylight so I would say be careful with cash and cash exchanges, cash machines, valuables, pockets and bags etc.
