P&O Club Lounge

We always used the Brasserie on P&O Ferries prior to the pandemic as it was the start of our holiday, but since the pandemic have used Eurotunnel. Now the Brasserie is no longer on the Dover Calais route we are thinking of trying the Club lounge. Apparently they now have hot and cold food included in the price of £24pp. Can anyone recommend this or is it not worth it? Just 2 adults - no kids.

Thank you Delta. A very comprehensive review. P&O didn't come off too well!

No problem and no they didnt. We don't want to use P and O due to the staff sacking and rehiring that happened, but appreciate that its not always that simple.

Hello,
has anyone used the club lounges on p&o ferries, Dover to Calais? £24 each, is it worth it? Is there plenty of food choices and drinks? Or would people recommend using the restaurants on board instead? We use the ferry as a food and rest stop when driving to south of france. Thank you for any help

I confess I haven't used P&O recently, but, in my experience all the lounges are really going down hill on the snacks/drinks - not worth 24quid each, you'd be better getting something you actually want from a restaurant/bar.

The only reason I use the Stena lounge is it's 24EUR for 3 of us as I get 2 free tickets with the Stena club, and even then, I sometimes do the sums and think a packed lunch and drinks from the bar would be a similar price.

I know this is a zombie thread but I thought I'd update to give an unbiased and correct view of P&O Club Lounge.

The food is amazing! It's hot food (there was rice, seasoned new potatoes, sausage and chorizo stew, chickpea curry, fishcakes, salad, and others that I didn't hone in on.

There is an amazing array of desserts, gorgeous cheesecake, muffins, millionaires shortbread (homemade with shortcake bottom, not the mass produced ones sold in shops), fruit, huge cookies, carrot cake and much, much more.

The food is constantly replenished, so if you miss out on the last piece of cheesecake they will bring out more.

There is unlimited drinks - alcohol and soft. A lot of people were drinking wine. The alcohol was wasted on us as I don't drink, DD is too young and DH was driving, but the soft drinks were a good variety.

You also have private toilets (a godsend compared to the scrum and queues on the trip to Calais), there is also a shower!??

The chairs are really comfy and you are guaranteed a seat with a view of the sea. You also have a private outside deck. This is part of my hatred of ferry crossings, getting a view of the sea is usually a bit of a tackle and the lower decks are noisy and busy, which really makes my anxiety and stress worse and causes me to have meltdowns.

I was sceptical (and a bit pissed off), when DH said he's upgraded us, but it was definitely worth it.

As I said I know it's a zombie thread, but wanted to put a balanced and unbiased opinion to the slating that P&O got above.

@Anonymousemouses thanks for this update. Travelling tomorrow and wondering whether to bother with the lounge.
