Europe in Feb Half Term with Teens, ideas please

Any suggestions for a week away (probably just 5 days) somewhere in Europe for a family break with teens aged 13 & 15.

Okayish budget, but not huge. Happy to look at self catering to all inclusive.

Keen for either beach/water park near by, but don't know if water parks etc... are open in Feb.

So will probably focus more on days out near by.

Will need to ideally travel from Birmingham/Bristol but could fly from London for the right place.

Iceland.
Book the trios. Do the golden circle, aurora borealis, whale watching, glacier walk if your teens are old enough.
Best break with teens we ever had.

There are hot pools all year round. Find the ones that Icelanders use rather than paying for the tourist ones if you want to swim.

Ooh thanks, hadn't considered Iceland, will probably save it for when oldest Ds (18 soon) can come with us, because that's his ideal kind of trip.

Lalandia in Billund with a trip to the Lego House

We loved Iceland too.
Seville our second favourite. We went New Year and it was low 20's.

Spent a great four days in Rome with my two. It was more cultural than what you seem to want though. We prebooked tours of the Colosseum and Palatine Hill and did a day trip to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius. The rest of the time we walked around and went to whatever took our fancy (amazing churches etc). Four days meant kids didn't get overloaded and fed up. Finding an out of this world gellateria next to the hotel helped!

No waterpark or slides, but my teen loves Paris. We are in London so really easy for us to get there.

EnglishRose1320 · 03/06/2023 08:37

All of these suggestions sound great for my ds but the 15 year old is my friends ds and he loves adventure and isn't likely to want to explore local culture for long (which is a pain, because that's what we are use to as a family). I did consider Paris but I think he would get bored and I'd rather go when we can all really enjoy it and appreciate it.

I think I need somewhere with bike trails/water activities/climbing etc...

Go to Berlin and then visit the Tropical Island dome resort for a couple of days. It’s fab.

Dublin. Just back from a few days with mine and if you can hire a car there is loads to do. Nowhere is going to be water park weather in feb

EnglishRose1320 · 03/06/2023 09:00

Lalandi and Berlin both sound like possible options.

Indoor water parks are what I imagined would be available in Feb. Also happy with beaches in all weather's, so will keep looking.

Essentially not a city break and ideally car free.

Centre Parcs

EnglishRose1320 · 04/06/2023 17:45

I'd forgotten all about Centre Parcs in Europe, definitely going to check those out.

If you’re looking for a beach/water park resort type holiday, how about Egypt?

HeyMicky · 04/06/2023 20:33

Mine are younger but we did Rome and Naples this Easter just gone. Vesuvius was fab, boat trip to Capri, did a pizza making day. There quite a lot of non history stuff to mix in in S Italy
