We are going to Grenada in a few weeks. Only booked the flights. Need to book hotels. Looking for recommendations on hotels, restaurants, things to do. Any tips appreciated!

It’s a small island, generally very untouristy compared to most of the other Caribbean islands, only a few hotels.
its a very safe island (google it, crime rate is very low), so consider hiring a villa instead of a hotel.
Definitely hire a car, even just for some days. There lots of places to go, drive on the left, use your horn for anything from thank you, you go first, sharp corner, basically everything! Not many road signs but there is always a local walking along the road and they will tell you where to go before you’ve finished winding your window down.
Rainforest, monkeys, lots of swimmable waterfalls and pools, St George is a lovely historical capital (take the local bus in, that’s a trip in itself). Eat where the locals do, lots of small restaurants. We had a good Italian near us plus a nice restaurant on the dockside near the airport with live music.
also diving and snorkelling.
Very picturesque, locals always very helpful and we drove or walked everywhere.
We ate at a local sports bar one night, lots of local lads sitting outside with the cars etc- all called out hello and stopped the traffic in the main road to let us cross over.
Have fun, we’ve stayed in various Caribbean islands and Grenada has a very different vibe to many of the others, more laid back, natural, take-it-as-it-comes.

Went about 30 years ago. Just remember the snorkelling was great and we also went to a nutmeg factory!

I would recommend 'Maca Bana'. Stayed many times. It's a small group of self catering villas but they also have on-site restaurant so you can have the best of both worlds. Fabulous, private location and very friendly staff

We have stayed at a hotel called Petit Anse which is in the north. Pictures don't do it justice. It is very quiet mind you, with only a handful of restaurants in that part of the island.

Have you considered getting a boat up to the Grenadines? It's a gorgeous part of the world.
