Has anyone been to a hotel in Europe with decent lounger system?

I’m on holiday at the moment - lovely hotel but the hogging of loungers is beyond ridiculous.

Glance out the window at 6 am and every lounger bar one has towels on. They then sit there empty for hours and hours. I actually went and sat on one ( of a bank of 5 ‘reserved’ and got aggressively shouted when the person arrived). Appreciate I could do this every day but it’s unpleasant and my kids get upset.

Even if I wanted to get up very early and bags one ( which I don’t) I’m a single parent so can’t actually do this. I just want one lounger for the three of us at one of the pools before 5 pm…

Actually spoils the holiday a bit - would genuinely pay quite a bit more to find a hotel
with a decent system to remove the stress …

Some hotels have a towel booth for the guests or an area away from the pool side.
Surely they could round up the towels are put them to one side to be collected by the ones being kicked off? I appreciate it means a member of staff taking the rap and doing the collecting , but it's better than the guests having a row pool side over who sits where or who moved their things.
Hotels need to sort this out I think ( especially during the very busy times )
Or just invest in many more loungers and parasols. Double the capacity for use.
( I know this is all easy for me to say and it's all money / space related as well, plus some hotels simply don't care enough )

This is what happens on cruise ships

H10 Lanzarote Gardens in Costa Teguise. Pool staff come around at 9am ish and remove any towels from unoccupied sunloungers. We never had a problem getting a sunlounger in the whole time we were there!

As someone else suggested Alexander The Great hotel in Paphos Cyprus have a great system. You are allocated a sun bed/beds but if you prefer a different position you can change it by seeing the pool attendant

Not had an issue ever, choose hotels with plenty basically

Yeah, this. TripAdvisor will tell you whether it’s a problem or not.

‘There are 2 ways of booking your sun beds at the Alexander the Great

  1. Look around for a place you would like, then see if there is a tag attached to a parasol with a room number on it ( 3 digit number NOT letter/number ). If there is not one, see the member of staff under the pergola to reserve it.
  2. Go to the member of staff under the pergola, who can show you on a " master plan" of the hotel grounds any beds that are not taken. You can choose from those.
Please remember, you can move to other beds during your stay, when they become vacant.’

Perhaps consider a hotel room with a swim up pool.
We did this in Greece which meant we had our own set of loungers on our patio which was right next to the pool.

The pool was only shared between 4 rooms and it was big.

Olympic Lagoon in Paphos allocates you beds for the duration of your stay. And you can ask to move too (we did when smokers were allocated beds next to us).

God, I feel stressed even reading about this. This would drive me insane. This is why we get a villa and self cater.

Years ago we went to the Maldives and there each room had its own numbered loungers so you could always guarantee having some.

When I stayed at Mitsis Laguna in Crete I noticed around the family pool there were two bedroom rooms that had there own little mini fenced off area with their own sun beds in it.
The resort is great for food and pools but but not for the beach.
