Park Asterix - Does anyone have any experience of buying tickets on-line?

Thinking of doing a short break to Park Asterix next school holidays and priced it up last night. So far so good. However, the only thing we were a bit unsure about was buying the park tickets online from the French website.
Has anyone else done this and was it OK? We think it's better to buy in advance rather than at the gate, 1) to avoid queues and 2) because it'll be a bit cheaper. Non?

Any advice appreciated, thanks!!!

we bought online and stayed at the parc asterix hotel - it was fab and no hassle at all doing it all online - the only problem was that the guide and bumpf only came in french so had to get my french friend to translate for us!

Where in France is ParC aSTERIX?

PestoMonster · 20/02/2008 09:48

It is 23 miles North of Paris. Thank you MoominsMummy!

OOH I might go then - staying in Normandy in Summer.

We bought tickets at the gate and the queues were not bad at all (in August too). We did go early so that we were there for the park opening - queues for the rides did build up as the day went on. If you have Tesco Clubcard vouchers you can use them if you want to make it cheaper.

We stayed at a Novotel nearby and most of the other guests there were also going to Parc Asterix.

Can you use clubcard vouchers at the gate or do you have to send them off?

Did you eat at the Novotel ChopChop? That is the hotel we were thinking of. It looked quite good, especially having a pool there.

we stayed at the hotel trois hiboux - we were on way back from camping so just having a bath was a luxury for us! the rooms were really well designed for family use and the food in the hotel was fab also. there was a playroom for the kids too

i think it was best part of our whole holiday! we went with a nearly 2 year old and a 10 year old and there was lots for them to go on together as well as shows to watch (loved the dolphins myself!)

as always in these places, food was expensive on site but lots of people went back to the car park for lunchtime picnics which didn't seem to be a problem

Pesto, yes we did eat at the Novotel. From what I can remember there was nowhere within walking distance (and DH and I wanted to make use of the bar while the DDs made use of the pool ). We did quite a lot of travelling around on that holiday (it was three years ago) and we stayed at several Novotels, mainly because we could get a room for all four of us. I can say that by the end of the holiday I was fairly fed up with the Novotel menu (most of them are a bit out of town)but the food was generally OK. Breakfast was good and if I remember correctly was free for children.

Cornsilk, we didn't use the clubcard vouchers but I'm fairly sure you have to send them off and get vouchers specifically for Parc Asterix - our new clubcard brochure arrived this week and I did notice Parc Asterix is still in it.

Thanks for that Chopchop! I don't suppose anyone knows whether many of the rides have height restrictions on them? DD2 is a smallish 8 and I would feel a bit bad if she couldn't go on many of them.

I'm planning to put her in thick soled trainers so she will hopefully be able to pass for 1.2 metres by then
