Eurocamp in near ferry/tunnel crossing

Hi all knowledgeable people. I hope you can help.

I am looking to take my 13-year-old to Eurocamp this year, preferably in France. I would prefer to book something close to a ferry or Eurotunnel crossing, as I want to minimise the driving time in France on the other side of the road.

We're in London, so Dover would be the preferred port, but I don't mind driving longer within the UK if there are Eurocamps closer to ports other than Calais.

My teen's only criteria is a decent pool with waterslides and I would prefer to be close to a beach.

Are there any such Eurocamps?

Camping La Vallee near Caen

Oh super, thank you. I was actually looking at that camp. Have you been there? Was it good?

Also look at pierre et vacances. They have far more options

You would be better doing Portsmouth to Caen for La Vallée or Newhaven to Dieppe which is a couple of hours from Caen.

Yes, and we liked it. It’s not the best Eurocamp out there, there is everything you need and more on the campsite and it’s also within walking distance of the town and beach. Bonus that it had fantastic sunsets and sea views! The splash area and pools were surrounded by plenty of sun loungers; however, we were surprised to discover there were no parasols at all. During our holiday, we had a heatwave of over 30 degrees. So if you need the shade, definitely invest in a parasol to bring with you! We didn’t try the restaurant food, but it seemed pretty busy most nights and the food looked good.
The beach was very windy even in good weather. Warm but windy. If we went again, we’d take wind break.

We did Domaine des Ormes, which is about half an hour from St Malo - I had the same concerns as you about driving in France. However, the Portsmouth-St Malo crossing is expensive. But the site would suit you and it has a big pool/water complex.

There is one 20 mins from eurotunnel which has waterslides etc.

I took my girls to camping le bien assise in Guines last summer when my husband was working away. It's about 20 mins from Calais but you wouldn't think it. It's a really lovely site with a pool and bar / restaurant.

I went to Le Bien Assise in April tbh there is not much to do onsite but surrounding areas there is.

You may be better off venturing to Chateau Drancourt (around 70 miles from Calais) or La Croix Du Vu Point (the later does organised bus tours to Paris and Disneyland Paris or Parc Asterix).

Im in my late 20s now but as a family we have been going for the last 25 years and I would say La Croix Du Vu Point has alot more going for it (fishing lakes, spa, golf, couple of pools, onsite bakery). We always go on the day trip to Paris and its only around 50 euros each return.
