We are 2 adults and 2 children aged 6 and 14.

Ideally it would;

Be next to a sandy beach

Have great food

Have a couple of water slides to keep the older child happy. I'm not looking for a full on water park.

I'm not bothered about alcohol as I barely drink, I'm looking at all inclusive so I dont need to cook and don't need to spend time looking for somewhere to eat each night.

But I'd like somewhere naice, IYSWIM.

Thank you

Club Marvy as mentioned is amazing. We stayed there with a 5 and 8 year old but older kids would be happy.
We're booked into one of their sister hotels this year!

Charlieandlola · 13/05/2023 21:58

Look at GF Victoria in Tenerife

MissHavershamReturns · 13/05/2023 22:00

Lopesan Baobob, Canary Islands. Water park a taxi ride away. Ver naice

Voyage hotels in Turkey, utter bliss, been going to various ones for the last 10 years with our kids.

Lykia · 14/05/2023 12:37

Lykia Hotel, Turkey they have a separate water slides section which is excellent for adults and children.

Lykia

Voyage Belek, Turkey - lovely hotel with great food and a water slides section.

Voyage

Maxx Royal Belek, Turkey budget busting but has great food and water slides.

Maxx Royal

If money was no object I'd go to Maxx Royal.

Crikeyalmighty · 14/05/2023 13:18

@Lykia Yes Turkey does has some fantastic ones. I'm fussy with Turkey though as some of them seem like massive Disney style resorts and far too many young kids racing around when I went to one. (I had a teen at the time) I like children - but it didn't make it very relaxing- so I do think you need to pick wisely there- depending on what your ideal is of course. Very full on, masses of children would indeed suit some.

FairStuff · 14/05/2023 17:30

I think that as soon as you add in water slides, you change the resort. I don’t think you need them

Roselilly36 · 14/05/2023 17:34

IKOS Resorts, if your budget permits, check out Tripadvisor reviews.

cptartapp · 14/05/2023 17:56

Pine Bay, Kusadasi in Turkey. The only place we ever went twice.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 14/05/2023 17:58

Arum Barut in Side, Turkey ticks all your boxes. We went last year with Jet2 and loved it.

overitunderit · 14/05/2023 18:03

Following to look at later x

ItsCalledAConversation · 14/05/2023 18:06

Sani Club, although no slides.

Irritatedcashier · 14/05/2023 18:27

Following as in looking for the same

Chellors123 · 14/05/2023 18:30

We have a similar criteria and are looking at the Grecotel Costa Botanica in Corfu. Grecotel took it over last year and carried out some of the refurbishments and then completed them over the winter. Could be a bit of gamble though so also watching this thread with interest.

afromom · 14/05/2023 18:41

Rui Palace Boa Vista in Cape Verde is amazing. A little further away than Europe (6hrs) but has a nice sore rate area for small children and a small water park for your older one. Really nice, 3 a La crate restaurants as well as the buffet. Not loads to do without being an organised trip, but the hotel is amazing

LivinLaFeeder · 14/05/2023 19:03

Not sure what your budget is, but if you can go further afield, I would recommend Hilton La Romana, Dominican Republic. Ticks all your boxes and then some.

Hazey19 · 14/05/2023 19:06

Tui Holiday village - cala milor in Majorca. It has slides!

ljl2020 · 14/05/2023 19:30

great thread, pretty much sums up what I am trying to find too, completely overwhelmed with all the Jet 2 / Tui / secret escapes sites and so many options etc - everywhere i've found is a min £5K for 10 days (granted, looking at going 1st August) for a reasonably nice 4* all-inclusive for 2 adult 2 children (or full board) ...i'm now wondering if i'd be better off looking further afield (Thailand/ America) for around that budget and going off piste. am i mad?! thanks everyone for all reccomendations on here, good luck op

Barut Lara

Yes. Been twice, love it.

Ichangedmynameonce · 14/05/2023 23:05

@ljl2020 exactly- though I haven't got the energy to start looking! Not sure I fancy a long haul flight with the little one either tbh.

Thanks all, lots to look at here.

Ps if anyone else has more to suggest pls do. I'm not looking for full on water park, just a couple of slides 😊 thanks

Second Blue Lagoon Village, Kos

FMLWTF · 03/06/2023 10:08

OP, did you find anywhere? Try Creta Maris (on Crete). We went last year and I think it ticks your boxes. I’d happily go again only I like to try new things. It has water slides perfect for a 14 year old (my 13 year old loved them). They are in a separate pool to one side of the hotel so you can spend some time there then move to a quieter pool for sunbathing/reading time. The food was very good (not Ikos level but I’ve realised I don’t need that. The rooms were nice and the view was so beautiful from our balcony. I think they had gyms, basketball, tennis etc but tbh it was so hot we couldn’t summon up the energy.

Evening entertainment usual fare but they kept our attention - the children find it a hoot. It didn’t have any rough types, actually not very British at all, many nationalities. I think you’d like it. I also search every year for something cheaper than Ikos/Sani with a bit more fun, less po-faced, good food but without the Brits abroad crowd!
