Weekend away, inspiration please

DH and I want to go away for the weekend to celebrate a big anniversary in July and I'm trying to think of ideas. Would welcome any suggestions. Criteria as follows-

• UK or abroad
• Doable from London leaving Friday and returning Sunday evening
• Not Brussels, Berlin or Amsterdam as we've done these recently
• Suggestions for hotels and restaurants would be great- we are pushing the boat out
• City break would be lovely or somewhere with unusual and spectacular countryside
• We like art, architecture, music, walking, nature. Not interested in shopping or sport.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

The obvious suggestion from London is Paris. Hop on the Eurostar Friday evening and you'll still have time for a late meal out after you check in to your hotel. Either around Saint-Germain-des-Prés where they're open later, or, a particular favourite for late meals, Le Grande Colbert - you can book sittings up to 11.30 pm. It's a wonderful place for people watching.

Plenty of art, architecture, music, walking, and even a bit of nature.

What about a country estate stay.

Just back from Seville . Highly recomend . Beautiful city, easily walkable ,lovely cycle paths, great value .

Stockholm, lots to see and do if you're in the mood. Loads of nice coffee shops if you just want to loaf with a different view.

Jersey? Spectacular coastal scenery, unique things to do (speed boat to offshore sandbanks, guided walks out across the sea bed at low tide, a lovely vineyard, castles, country lanes designed for walking / cycling).

Lovely hotels and some great restaurants.

45 minutes from Heathrow, Gatwick or Luton and no passport control at either side so no more time than necessary wasted in airports.

Transfer from arrival to hotel would be no more than 20 minutes by taxi no matter where you booked to stay.
