Its the story before the wizard of oz I think. How the witch became wicked? I've heard good reports too but not seen it. Is Dirty Dancing too grown up? Supposed to be fab.

pink teddy's right - its about the good and bad witch in the wizard of oz and how she became wicked. My neice saw it (she is 9) and really enjoyed it

i think phanton & le mis are a bit old. joseph has been on for years, they usually dont last if they are rubbish!, my neice went with her mum to see wicked she really enjoyed it too (she's 29!). they have also seen sound of music and loved it but they have just put a new maria in that so you might have trouble getting tickets

HuwEdwards · 16/02/2008 23:40

Lion King - bloody fab.

HuwEdwards · 16/02/2008 23:41

Also saw Sound of Music - again great.

In case you think I'm some sort of London Theatre Whore, these are the only 2 I have seen

pinkteddy · 16/02/2008 23:46

Don't think wicked will be too young - colleagues at work went and loved it! I saw les mis years ago - not for an 11 year old IMO.

borofudge · 17/02/2008 00:01

My 10 year old is desperate to see Hairspray, have you thought about that?

borofudge · 17/02/2008 00:06

Just had a quick look at web site. Michael Ball's in it and the lad who entered the competition to find new Joseph. Looks fab, thinks I should start saving up!

brimfull · 17/02/2008 00:16

I went to see Mousetrap about that age..I thought it was fab.

Lion King otherwise

I have taken my 12 year old to see The Lion King, Chicago, Les Mis, Joseph (tour not West End)Wicked, Billy Elliot and Mary Poppins and Grease. She loved them all and is now desperate to see Hairspray!
Wicked is definately not too young for her - it is very clever and the music is fantastic! One of the best shows I have ever seen a really awesome experience.
A cautionary note re Billy Elliot as the language is shocking at times.
My dd adored Les mis - and still does. If you chose that one I would explain the story line to her first and take plenty of tissues with you.
Whatever you go and see, children always seem to enjoy it more if they recognise the music. We usually buy the OCR when we order the tickets! Enjoy!

It is set at the time of the french revolution - basically a love story and tragic family saga. Wonderful, wonderful music.
