Florida question about nice Gulf beaches

We fly into Tampa plan to stay in Kissimmee for a week, then across to Miami for a couple of nights, do the Everglades park and then....not sure. Want to start getting back up towards Tampa perhaps and have a few days in a nice town/area with lovely beaches.

Does anyone have recommendations for those last few days after Everglades?

@GulfCoastBeachGirl thanks so much to you and others for all the advice. We are now booked in on Siesta Key right near the village and beach. Can't wait! It will be so nice to have a more chilled time after the Orlando chaos

We had the most amazing trip to Siesta Key about 15 years ago. Absolutely loved it. You'll have a fab time
Highly recommend getting an Uber to Wilmington for a wander, they filmed loads of stuff there like Dawsons Creek

So, just coming back to ask a question about the first week.

We land on the Thursday and research is telling us that doing Universal on a Friday and Saturday is an epic mistake. Better to go Sunday to Tuesday.

We are thinking of heading straight over to somewhere near Kennedy Space centre to do that on the Friday, something on Saturday then head back to Orlando for Sunday.

Long winded way of asking what is a nice place to stay for a couple of nights over near Kennedy?
