It is so hard to get to speak to a sensible person these days.
We have booked a holiday to a greek island in the summer holidays, 3 of us including adult daughter (18 year old). We have paid the single person's supplement so she has her own room. She has been in a relationship now for a while and we would love for her partner to come with us. I've just called TUI and they want to charge us (or him as he will have to pay), a further £800.00 to add him to the booking. However when I look at flight only, we can get him to the greek island for £445.00 on exactly the same flight that we are on and we arrange our own transfers. He is a student so £800.00 isn't that easy for him to save up (especially as it is a self catering studio/apartment!).
So my question is, can he not just stay in our daughter's room? Other than additional towels which I can take in the case, does it matter?
The call centre for TUI is not based in the UK and they just didn't seem to get what we were trying to say. They were saying he is not just allowed to stay in her room and he had to pay to stay in there - to which we replied, OK no problem, but then do you not need to give us back the single person supplement - I had paid close to £450.00 for her to have her own room? The call handler started to get quite abusive so we ended the call.
