Had a drink, booked wrong hotel - Cales de Mallorca

On a high spirited whim I decided to book a holiday, looked at my shortlist and thought fuck it I must have vetted all these if they are on the shortlist (I am crippled by indecision)

But now the details have come through I realise it is completely wrong and not what I want (and i don't think even on my shortlist, it appears to have been a ' you'd like this')

Has anyone been, is there any history/culture/anything worth seeing nearby or have I just booked nowheresville as Spanish prices when I could have done the same in a cheaper country?

Thanks all, have been through the T&Cs with a fine tooth comb and spoken to them, I can move the holiday to another hotel and incur a small charge but can't change the flights without losing the deposit.

The hotels in better locations are 1-2k more and the facilities are not as good- to hire a car for the week is around £500 (apparently prices skyrocketed since covid) so unless I decide to cancel completely and lose the deposit I'm going to keep the hotel. Hotel looks great, I will just have to woman up, drive and stay off the beer.

The Drach caves look good and I will hire a small boat (no licence required) so will at least be able to explore the coves. Palma looks amazing and not what I expected.

Any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Also thanks for not throwing it in my face. I am aware this is a nice problem to have.

We have visited several resorts on the Island but always as a chill out week - this is one of the quieter resorts but I will never forget seeing dolphins in the sea and walking along the coastal paths.

Coastal walks are a big positive, so that is good thanks.

@dessicatedblackbird if going to caves, I thought the caves at Arta were nicer/less commercialised. We felt a bit like herded cattle at Drach! Puerto Pollenca is lovely, as is the old town of Alcudia. If you are happy to drive over to Palma, there's a great train ride you can take from Palma through the mountains to Port de Soller. We had a really fantastic day there. Car hire is definitely a lot more expensive since covid, supply isn't as high and hasn't increased with demand.
