Has anyone done one of these type of holidays end of June time? I'm trying to work out if it'll be warm enough given the travel across on the ferry would make life so much simpler with toddler aged children - thank you!

it was our usual holiday when the kids were young. we went to brittany. south brittany has a particularly decent climate. think cornwall but better weather and less tat/crowding. generally it was great, but we did have the odd holiday where it rained a lot....but not as much as uk.

definitely it’ll be lovely. Not Spain temperatures but it’ll be nice enough

It will be nice enough in the parks etc, might get some rain. But it will be really chilly when wet / swimming so make sure you take dressing gowns / snuggly towels for by the pool!

Thanks all!

Do you know when the prices start ramping up? I know the kids break up around 20th of July normally, so could we expect 1st or 2nd week of July to still be a bit cheaper?

As others have said, south Brittany should be lovely. And yes, super easy. we liked La Grande Metairie in Carnac with our children at toddler age, went several times, and sailed from Portsmouth to St Malo so it’s only a couple of hours drive.

work out the timings of when Irish school holidays start, we (pre school years) went in June and early July and some years it was busier with Irish families than others. But even then it wasn’t full capacity. And so much cheaper than school holiday time!

It can be cheaper to book directly with the site rather than with Eurocamp. The quality of accommodation is often better. So once you find a site you like on Eurocamp see what prices you can get by booking direct.

Definitely worth the longer ferry journey to St Malo, an easy drive to Brittany 😊

if you look at ukcampsites.co.uk you can see reviews of the different sites (or that used to be the case around 15 years ago). you want to try and get a big pitch as some are squashed in. we went to grand metairie in carnac several times and liked it (long time ago now). Also liked les deux fontaines slightly further north.
