I'd like to take my son on a European city break in the summer. Does anyone have any recommendations? He's 10 and it will just be myself and him. Thanks

Does he like football as Barcelona with a tour of Neu Camp is great for a football fan.

My ds loved Rome but he was a little older . What about Amsterdam?

Berlin? Has lots of good museums, both war related but also art/science. Funky place and very reasonably priced.

Another vote for Budapest - me and my two sons (10 & 8) love it. They particularly love the Hospital in the Rock - well worth a visit

Valencia, but if it's during school summer holidays, it will likely be extremely hot which would make sightseeing hard work. That said, you could look for a hotel with a pool, but that will mean staying outside the city centre which I think would be a shame.

Naples is fantastic for a weekend .
food , amazing architecture , great night life and stunning coastal area with Pompéi just 30 min train ride away .

I’m loving all of your ideas! Thank you

Budapest? Have any of you got any hotel recommendations for travelling with a child?

Gibraltar. Could easily spend a couple of days up on the rock itself - nature, caves, history and siege tunnels and of course the monkeys hanging out waiting to mug careless tourists. If you pick a hotel near the airport you can even walk across the runway on your way.
