Travel insurance for child after cancer

Hello,

Does anyone have any recent experience of getting travel insurance for a child who has been through cancer treatment and is in remission? I'm half thinking about booking a holiday for Autumn but not sure how easy or otherwise it will be to get insurance...?

TIA

Bumping for you as I would like to know too!

You could also try asking your charity worker or on any Facebook groups you are on. I have been rejected by so many insurance companies for DC’s cover and still on the hunt!

All Clear were able to provide cover for my daughter. It annoys me that my normal insurer will not cover any aspect of a holiday - flight delay, baggage etc. I would happily accept no health cover. It was very simple and straightforward with All Clear

Not cancer but surgery to prevent cancer. I used go travel. A robe if questions but we got there in the end. Good luck

Staysure is the company I use for other not cancer related long term health conditions.

There's a specialist insurer for people living with a cancer diagnosis. Not sure if they deal with child cases as have only worked with adults but hopefully they will and you get your holiday.

You will be able to get it at many places but it will bump up the cost a bit.
As an adult I have a huge number of pre-existing conditions including cancer but can still get insurance. Mine cost £500 for an annual policy.
I use Staysure but have never claimed so can't comment on how well they do if you need them.

Thank you everyone for your advice and experience. My 7 yo DS is nearing the end of stage 4 cancer treatment and is currently clear of cancer but there is a fair risk of recurrence so I imagine it’ll be expensive even though he’s technically cancer free!
